Tempestuous Night

. The air is so humid
                 As the storm rages outside
And I toss and turn in my bed
                       Sleep evading me
Lightning traces, visible on the inside of my eyelids,
Illuminate your image and brighten my mind
How I long for your cool touch
                        On my damp skin
                   As the rain beats heavy
                         Sweet, hard rain
                   To feed the needy earth
