We journeyed then as whim behooved,
Our lives were eddies, wind and play;
Great hearts were we, so far removed
Whence any mortal thought might stray.
And sunlight streamed upon our souls,
And starlight to the distance played;
As softly lapping water lulls,
I would it were and never fade.
For we on honeydew had fed,
And with the winter winds were wed,
And so, like clouds of August sped
Across the wondrous sea.
And many dulcet days there fell,
And many harbors sheathed our bow,
And many marvels might I tell,
If tapered time would but allow.

Dark Waters

Emotional Burdens Set Sail on Dark Waters Lagoon
Adrift, Under the Soft Light of the Waxing Crescent Moon
Subtle the Reflection, the Tapered Lunar
Gently Glistened Dark and Murky Ethereal Water
The Rippled Surface Parted to Embrace Oshun's Daughter
Dark Waters, Uncharted Enchanted Tantric Whispers
With Urgency, Implores the Mystic Explorer
Seeking Light in the Dark
Hoping for Star Lights to Illuminate a Path
Opaque and Obscure Neptunian Watery Depth
Bubbles revealing a Treasure Cave where Creativity is Kept
Nurturing Seeds of Aspiration
Dark Waters Incubate Newly Conceived Inspiration
Piscean Streams of Motivation Needed
To Aide the Birth of the Water Lily Seeded
Dark Water, Dark Moon Daughter
Now Submerged In Blissful Abysmal Depths
Dreamy Trance, Her Secrets the Dark Waters Kept.

Premium MemberElegy for a Dragonfly: A Sonnet

Its wings were double fronds of gauzy green,
its fragile form a long and tapered flair—
this fallen dragonfly I had not seen
before, when I had walked out on my stair.
I bent and saw that it was not alive,
its body crushed, its wings ravaged and torn.
Yet something of its beauty still survived—
a remnant of the luster it had borne.
I marveled at such elegance in death,
a noble creature, still, upon my stair.
A wave of melancholy took my breath,
and eyes welled for a thing so fine and rare.

I put the grief away and dried my eyes.
Such is the way of tears and dragonflies.

Premium MemberSpontaneity

In the archaic anchorage of the wayward mind,
isolated from the righteous roots of inviolability
by the dislodging drive of the deriding desires,
untamed instincts shroud the senses in disdain abyss.

Under the sensual surface of corporeal discernment,
tapered thoughts transitorily profile intrinsic images
on the fleeting screen of the sprouting awareness
within the unique quintessence of universal reality.

The stimulant inner window on enlightenment vista
lets inside rousing sunshine of impetuous actuality,
radiates the impulsive impression of awakened psyche,
enhances the defining strength of the cathartic spirit.

As immanent emotions unfold in spontaneity space,
the soul contained latent in the cauldron of vacuity,
finds freedom, merges inspired with consciousness
of divine oneness in the realm of absolute supreme.

Yesterday's Flame

The candle’s flame still dances with the breeze
and casts her playful shadows on the wall
that pique imaginations with a tease
and bring back ancient memories that please,
and yet her flame’s not bright as I recall.

This once tall, slender beauty was quite chic,
in evening's dimming light she graced the room
while glowing with a certain soft mystique
that always left emotions feeling weak,
and filled my senses with her sweet perfume.

The fervent flame that left a warming glow
    and captured my imagination’s dreams,
still softly burns, though not as bright a glow
that conjured ancient dreams I used to know,
and yet she still emits her gentle beams.

Today this candle doesn’t stand as tall;
her fabled slender fading figure flees
while beads of wax, like aging teardrops, fall;
though not the tapered beauty I recall,
her gentle flame still dances with the breeze.

Lord

Lord….
Thee….
Guide me
Walk my path
Waiting for my bath
Twiddling my thumbs cause I fear me
Yearning for a hut where all those sounds are tapered shut
Please erase such a gut from such controversial rut running from head to toe like smut

Memories of Sweet October

Memories of sweet October
Finding time with my li'l sister
We surfed on road with time, like race
Light on her face's my saving grace

We travelled on a cobbled road
Uphill, on a garden so broad
We shared our smiles in many ways
Light on her face's my saving grace

We dared the tides and scourge of time
On gusty winds, our feet did rhyme
We laid our hearts on cozy place
Light on her face's my saving grace

On gorgeous city, made of stone
We planned of some mornings to hone
We cherished time on tapered space
Light on her face's my saving grace

Sunset By Text

In the last hours of a sunset rendezvous
By the sacred ponds of mabweadziva…
Sunset peaks out after rain

Wonders around, the pond reflects
of colors bursting forth anew
to fight the fading spirit of the day

in the horizon forms a bright hue
to mask the sodden day of endless rain
slowly, the colors turn and fad into darkness
masking the glory of the day

Sleep well all souls and God keep you till a new dawn arise.
The red blaze has tapered into gray
As whiskers of light caress an inviting night
What whispers it pronounces… no one to know

Sleep well angel
At each corner of the room a guardian angel is positioned
Sweet dreams… another time… another place…!

As silver shadows lick across the closing vision
Heavy eyebrows softly draw curtains across weary eyes
…another dream…. Another wish
Good night sunset

cowritten from two lands by

Conception

Yesterday,
the rustic multicolored foliage was scattered about the ground; basting and glistening beneath the tamed fall sun, taking their rest.
The long days of summer had been harsh on them. For they had entered it, green and lavish; Chorographically dangling from the branches of enormous oaks and maples...and birches, too, perhaps.
But time and temperature had tapered them.
Today, they are motionless.
Dismantled from the spotlight of summer's stage. The ground is cool.
Soon, comes their burial blanket.
And above, jubilant souls shall shuffle about, oblivious of the dancers stilled beneath them, from which their winter wonderlands
were conceived.

Underneath her heart is the Fathers breath
Under her mind feelings of loving bliss
And under her apparel those the clothes she adorns
Ravishing silks, perfumed and her tapered body
Scented and oiled for her husband
A view of nakedness amidst this cloaked skins of cloth
~
He is arouse high off her innermost spirit
Parts of his eyes explore the beauty she hides
on the following morning they exchange hearts
Bathing in each other’s arms loving as such in the Bridal Chamber
Now legally wed they surcom to their bed
was natural ravishing bodily touchingly

Different

I have chosen to go against the course,
I have anchored my ship through the tapered waters,
My wings took a contrastive shape, unique and vibrant,
I stood against the lashing winds, embracing its contempt,
I have hunted for magic even in darkness,
I construed the concealed emotions inscribed in printed words,
I stayed silent most of the time, letting my talent speak,
I grasped the miracles of the tiniest things encountered in my life.

I love the unparalleled realism of my sane life,
The imperfections and the unpredictability that ornate my existence,
Making my life an assemblage of contorted fates.

Psychopath By Choice

Telling that gotesque humanid shape ( i know it was humanoid but i love the sound of humanid)
concaved on the lid of the toilet bin
tapered on the rim
I hate you
then i realised i'm not him
trapped within
Jokered grin
death can't surprise me
cause i don't care
ready anywhere
life was a chore i skipped
when no one watches
danced beneath the undressed trees
cried for crying sake
given what i took
taking the edges of the universe
and ripping it a partly invisible in daylight
Moulded by the contours of the seas of the moon
Licked by every wind
Spoke to
Sooner
Couldn't care to be angry
just a bare pool table
no felt no feel
Psychopath by choice
was was that an echo
or you reading my voice

Nuclear Bread

Tom stops his waltz to the dead,

tapered, and cream of the cram in his head-

he's always a-loft-

he's the maker of his next,

year by year,

danger by the yes!

So many times,

so little does he need to be read,

because the dribble of life is only faster by fetch.

Premium MemberSand In a Bottle Art

into a tiny clear glass bottle,
about the width of a thumb,
through its narrow top,
through a long tapered neck,
he pours fine coloured sand,
from small glass tubes,
quickly shifting from
one colour to another,
the sand just rushes down,
into the bottle to take its place,
as he deftly shakes and moves
guiding a circular shower of sand!
the colours settle down,
a demonstration of precise skill,
a coordination of eye, hand and mind,
of a family tradition and gift,
a proof of what humans can do!
he puts a tiny cork to seal it all!
I look at the bottle he hands me
after dusting of the dust with a cloth,
The bottle now is a work of art,
I see the Syrian sands with palm trees,
three camels with their mounts,
a sunset and a few birds
and my name to sign it of!
his bright eyes look at me
as if to ask if I am pleased,
he shows his fingers to say 5 dinars!
A priceless art, for such a small price!
I give him 10 and hug him
and shake his hand,
hoping some of his skills
on me would rub off!
