Feather Cloud
A giant feather in a perfect blue sky.
A wisp of cloud shaped and tapered,
what a exquisite surprise. What an
amazing heavenly message up high....

Fire
Try to destroy
Destroy by fire
Try to burn
My love for him
The fire I speak
We all know as hate
But the only thing
Going up in flames
Is you...
For you my Friend
Have tapered with Fate!...

Rock Paper Scissors
You used to be my strength, my rock
I looked to you for comforting thoughts
Till you thinned like paper
Your caring tapered
And like scissors you cut me off

Premium Member 'a Dead Man's Skull
A wicked wick of tallow lit
witch's sacrifice remit,
smoky tapered candles fit
in a dead man's skull a writ.

Eyes ablaze Satan permits,
the single soul to rest a bit,
and blood runs-- into the pit
in candle light the witches flit....

Lord
Lord….
Thee….
Guide me
Walk my path
Waiting for my bath
Twiddling my thumbs cause I fear me
Yearning for a hut where all those sounds are tapered shut
Please erase such a gut from such controversial rut running from head to toe like smut

Premium Member Alabaster Wings
Alabaster wings in celestial blue,
glissading on the surface of winds.
Stalking the shore, aerial view,
for luckless winkles and crabs —
briny delicacies.
Lightly ascending
on tapered wings,
seagull sails -
graceful
white.

Nuclear Bread
Tom stops his waltz to the dead,

tapered, and cream of the cram in his head-

he's always a-loft-

he's the maker of his next,

year by year,

danger by the yes!

So many times,

so little does he need to be read,

because the dribble of life is only faster by fetch....

Costume Party
spineless uniform
tapered, buttoned, pressed
exaggerate long lines

Feather
a feather found
a gift not boxed, not wrapped
not double-bow bound
a gift imagined floating
falling leaf-like to the ground
halved by disappearing stem
tapered grey-white, grey-white line
one side an emerald satin shining stem
green paint over black artistically spread
a half with finest soft silk white hem
etched in grey in paralleled line
sent by a Pegasus-like numen...

Premium Member A Chilly Rainy Afternoon
A Chilly Rainy Afternoon

In the chill of the afternoon
the light rain steadily fell—
soaking the rich green field

Just as the rain tapered off
to a slight mist, a flock of blackbirds
swooped down, ambushing
thirsty unaware frolicking worms

With the lapse of time, the rain ceased
and the blackbirds departed—
leaving a lone squirrel undulating across
the watery green field....

Premium Member World's Afterlife
From streak and blur of candle faint
Her whispered breath gasps through dim hall--
That longing haunts without restraint
When a presence twirls come midnight:

Gently, gently she advances
Yet tapered wax fades…bleak the loft
And she aches for snuffled chances;
To meet him …in world’s afterlife.

Dining Needle
When I was young, a dining needle
Was the term we used
To name a flying insect, but
Turns out we were confused.

For darning needle is another
Phrase for dragonfly.
If you see one up close, then you
Will know the reason why.

Its thin and tapered body looks
Like what we’d use to sew,
But “darning” is a word that many
People do not know.

And so a word misheard became
A means of us defining
The dragonfly, which we assumed
Was out to do some dining....

You Should Know
If you love me,
then you should know,
my favorite color,and
tv show.

If you love me,
and have shared my life,
what makes me special,
in being your wife.

What is my shoe size,
are my jeans tapered or loose,
do I wear the low riders,
or those high on the caboose.

Is my perfume,
flowers or spice,
how many times have you told me,
baby you smell nice.

These simple things,
that make me who I am,
are not very difficult,
but will prove to me,
you are my man....

The Bittersweet Vine
Lush and green, full and thick
  the bittersweet vine grows;
with each rain new shoots stretch quick
and wrap entwined bent and tapered elbows.

The birds find in it a hidden haven
beneath the leaves and rampant growth,
with a multitude of orange berries laden
spreading fast along the fence it chokes.

Beauty lay in the beholders eye
a vine or bush that soon encroach the garden path
and a once desired garden wonder spied
must be cut with love determined wrath....
