Time
is never on our side,
so hurried, so rushed,
whispered tantrums in the silent hush;
to grow, to age with time
when suddenly we realize
too late
time has passed us by.

A covert narcissist dressed in a hand-me-down victim cloak,
Master of the tear-tantrum tactic —
He sniffles, sobs, and simpers until your defenses drop,
Then slides a betrayal in your back so smooth you almost thank him.
A codependent parasite latched to his mother’s emotional tit like a tick,
Bound by an enmeshed dynamic so tight you'd think she birthed him twice.
He’s 40 going on 14,
Displaying classic symptoms of Peter Pan Syndrome with a sprinkle of Oppositional Defiance Disorder every time life whispers “grow up.”
Zero employment history,
But extensive experience in triangulation, gaslighting, and learned helplessness.
He’s the CEO of deflection, a PhD in projection,
Weaponizing guilt like a toddler with a grenade.
He calls you "too emotional,"
Right after he weeps his way out of another confrontation
Like a soggy Machiavelli.
He’s not just a mama’s boy.
He’s her emotional husband,
Their emotional incest dressed up as devotion,
While he lets her make every decision
Between his gaming sessions and tantrums.
He’s the kind of man who, if given a mirror,
Would still find a way to blame the reflection for his failures.

We make our own choices
In life and no one's perfect
But when you decide to have kids
It's your responsibility not
The grandparents, the children now
Have excessive energy, don't listen
Throws tantrums, and have no
Discipline at all, because they're
Not taught, if you the parent
Can't control them what expect
From the grandparents, then you
want them to babysit Monday through
Friday, plus weekends so you can
Have a date night or go out
Grandparents have a life to and
Want to live their life too
They're not just here to
BABYSIT!

I’m thinking of a person
Who is strong and resilient.
Big in personality but size is small.
When mad, they turn a green pigment.
All is lost when anger worsens.
Tantrums raging, escalating.
Tired now, limbs in a sprawl.
I’m talking about toddler phasing,
A daily battle of exertion.

Animals make my day
They're so smart and witty
They're also very cunning
They know how to plot
To get what they want
They pout and throw
Tantrums when they
Can't have their way
They love cuddling time
Love and affection, but
They get jealous too
They're personally traits
Are more like humans
Which really amazes me

Contest: This or That, Vol 30 – 2-4-25 Sponsor: Edward Ibeh - Title Chosen: Etched in Stone
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Etched in Stone
Two hearts glare at each other
Clutching their stone tablets
Written by the finger of their rightness,
Guarding the secret handshake
In single sighted delinquent tantrums
Refusing to share the offertory
Of a loving cup -
Consumed by daggers of thoughtless words
Carved deeply in a scarred heart.
Floral offerings wilt
Upon stone manifestos
Where ashes of incense lay impotent
To clear the air
And wipe clean the embedded words.
Passion falls in pixels of distortion
Blurring valleys where sacred poles burn –
Lie in dust written in the past –
Paralyzed
Unable to rise from handwritten crypts
Placed in captive marble altars,
Epithets like an epitaph for love.
Immoveable stone resists the transcendent
Until forgiveness’ chisel
Re-writes the script of etched words
Crumbling in swaddled tears of humility
That know their need for grace
Consummated in love’s perfect signature.
A shiny morning bathed in golden-gluey rays.
Somedays are different from everyday.
The royal couture's army, Of sun's dear palace.
Served down the feast of honour.
As I opened the mouth to greet.
The berries of my mommy's continental & savoury kitchen.
Satisfying the appetite of my elated much hungry soul.
Alongwith serenity, To my disturbed mood.
I took the boat, Destined for the shore of endless breathing.
& found myself lost, Into the lake of solitude.
The melody of contentment.
Drenched into my ear, when the swans passed by.
A merry moment to cherish & laugh.
Even the hours of daylight, Felt like a blink of seconds to my ardent eyes & carefree heart.
Roaming like a reckless, dancing paper doll.
A royal chic, Fully fledged with tantrums, that night. Cause,
I was wild.
I was free.
I was home
Every time you slammed the door
Every time you dropped the call
Every time you yell at me through and through
I get tired too.
Every time you passed before me
Every time complaints ring upon me
Every time murmurs being me
I get tired too.
Am I your emotions punching bag?
Am I your stress reliever?
Am I your eyes strainer?
Can’t take it anymore
I wanna flee faraway
Hiding in mountains, caves and valleys
Where shadows are no more
Pissing me off I can’t control
Every time I was criticized
Every time I was embarrassed
Every time I’m manipulated
Underrated, I get tired too.
Most of the time you frown
Tantrums hit the ground
The reasons are unknown I got mixed emotions
I wanna stay away
For toxics just have pure fun with me
Seizing my right to be me
Seeing me as a piece of prey
I get tired, I am tired I am exhausted
I am frustrated
Getting messed with you
I wanna fight back with you
But it’s not necessary for I love you so
Strangled by the bond that cannot be taken
It’s not mistaken, it’s purely original
Don’t know how can this be shaken
My life is not optimal
after the storm the sky sighs
relieved the rage has expired
with a rolling fade rumble
all is quelled to quietude
after rain a damp dank shroud
covers the earth utterly
enveloping everything
in slimy glint of wetness
after the lightning is sheathed
the earth is spared more sharp stabs
and brutal bang afterthoughts
in rolling peals of thunder
then the dark clouds sneak away
ashamed for temper tantrums
that spoiled what otherwise was
a perfect hot summer's day
To bear children seems a great feat
For some giving birth's a tough beat
This choice brings to light
A new life that’s bright
And makes parents feel more complete
Parenting—a very tough sport!
The Surgeon General’s report
Notes financial stress
With tantrums and mess
Can adult wellbeing abort
Doing stuff uniquely your own
Means less of rough life though alone
Childless cat ladies
Don’t come from hades
But add TikTok fluff for your phone
September 13 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Ezekiel 46-48
Key Verse – Ezekiel 46:43 Likewise the people of the land shall worship… before the Lord…
PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR ENABLING US TO WORSHIP HIM
Praise be to God for enabling us to worship Him with:
Trust in His truth
Thankfulness for His treats
Triumph along tests and trials
Tirelessness through His tenderness
Testimony about His tenacity against our tantrums
Ezekiel 47:23 Praise be to the Lord for giving us inheritance of:
Greatness along compassion grants
Graciousness with His caring guidance
Gloriousness with His constant generosity
Goodness amidst His continual comforting gear
Gladness to combat cheerfully crippling gloominess
Ezekiel 48:35 Praise be to the Saviour for
being there in our midst for our:
Protection by His providence
Provisions in His purposive plan
Power with His perfect performance
Peace along His presence and pursuits
Prosperity according to His progress-propelling. Amen!
My little face says it all
Adults think they know it all
When they don't know a thing
It can be hard sometimes to be a baby
One moment you're the best thing in the world
Everyone loves a baby
But when we. get a little older
We are ignored and end up in the gravy
I tried to rebel
But it didn't
Turn out too well
I should be in the bursary
And our Moms
In the penetrnsuary
Whats a kid like me
Doing in a joint like this?
I suppose it was born at the wrong time
Wrong place
I tried the old trick
When there's when there's nothing left
So plan A cry to draw attention
Only problem was
Both my parents were deaf
I have my own tantrums
People said '' it's just teething problems
But I don't have any teeth"
That's the problem
So I'm here
And must confess
I'm depressed
So embarrassed
And Harrised
Just think
When I get back to nursery?
I walk in looking like a lampshade
The other babies will think I've gone daft
I've lost my marbles!
And laugh!
When I get a bit older
And have my teeth
I can speak
After intense pychothrapy
For Trauma
I warn ye
I may get bigger than those who scared me
Just wait and see.
8-12 Lines – Wind, Rain, Snow, Thunder or Sun – 3-22-24
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rains
Each season knows your names.
Vernal vixen splendor rides in misty cloud ships
Solstice downpour impregnates fertile blue fields
Your sheaves of rain call you autumnal,
Platinum queen, you dance the frozen fandango.
Your crystal pearls you drape on empty branches
And wrap the dawn and dusk in a silver scarf
As weathervanes spin in your tempest’s tantrums.
You creep across the sky disguised in wispy veils,
Tiptoeing into place, then open wide your space
The blazing daystar joins with you, teasing minx,
Conceiving rainbows.

Teenagers, oh how they grow,
With hormones raging, they are a show!
Their taste in music and style that's new,
With beats so fresh and fashion so true.
They start to date and fall in love
Their hearts entwined like hand and glove.
Texting, chatting and late night talking,
Make parents cringe and start stalking.
Their moods swinging high and low,
Like waves that dance with ebb and flow.
Endless debates and slamming doors,
Throwing tantrums and silent wars.
Peer pressure mounts, the need to fit in,
Fear of failure, the uncertainty within.
Battles of adolescence, fierce and raw,
In the heart's arena, where emotions claw.
They storm through life with a youthful pride,
Yet inside, they seek a gentle guide.
At times they seem quite wild and untamed,
But deep inside, they're just a child unnamed.
