a night gleaming jasmine's sylphid nectar
amid silvery swells of silk song-weaving
soft swirls of a hypnotic aroma pervade.
spirals to the milky pearl of the starry sky,
whispers of rapture, a hawkmoth of passion.
when stirred, he performs a rhapsody.
a symphonic chorus of stardust and breaths.

Blood upon the keyboards
harmonicas in flight
Chasing notes across the score
horns that greet the night
Eighty eight’s to hemorrhage
reeds that bend and break
Music dying then reborn
—trumpeting our fate

A kaleidoscope of transcendent rhythms
Envelop my soul from the well-spring of a mystical
and majestic refrain.
Notes exalted in the heart of the awakened one
Only to be extinguished by the cruel masters of
memory and time, which give way to a dystopian
perspective incessant and ominous in its vexation.
The purposeful formation of songs leave an
indelible mark upon a hopeful spirit, wishing,
waiting for that promise in the hidden
recesses of the earth’s core.
Joyful melodies from the fifth dimension bring an unexpected
solace which soothes and captures an unshakable truth
behind her existence, beside the travesty of the scattered
notes from a wandering, wavering and diminished heart.
The final call from an ancient composition propels the exhausted
woman to continue on, to push, press, proceed, persist,
Advancing as a general, engaging in the warfare deep
inside her womb, expelling the myths and mythologies
which imprisoned her, cajoled her, deceived her.
And now, the final rhythm belongs to her for this joyful moment
The songs of a thousand summers burst forth and bring her
into a new dawn, a new reality, a new way of life!

When I allow myself
to become an understoried note,
I hear our symphony co-relationally composed of
rhythms
patterns
pauses
silence
cacophony
measures
color
tone
tunes harmonic,
dissonant,
diminished,
subconcious sub-objective underlying creation stories
recreationally sung together
better than just loudly marching apart,
This bilateral muse awareness
releases me from fundamentalistic win/lose salvation stories
and allows this ego-moment to live freely,
yet securely interdependent,
co-passionately win/win present.
When I ego live
connected within co-present eco-source,
I hear no impossible disconnect,
no hard-line severance between nature-left
and spirit-right,
no bipolar either/or deductive
reductive conclusion;
There is, instead,
only both/and boundless win/win integral possibility
and endless round
timeless ego/eco-rational
interdependent truths.

At night I like to look to the sky
and remember the lost ones by whom I'm inspired
The angels Rena, Toni, Jeromiah, and David
all showed me something, how can I repay them?
My heros whos lives, troubled like mine
yet never once did they ever fail to shine
even as they thought they mattered not
I noticed the love for the life through they fought
every time they woke from the bed
until one by one, my heros, fell dead
When I remember, even though, ago long,
I look to the heavens, and sing them a song.
I feel them smile, and clap for another
I give it all my love, like I do Teddy and Randy, my brothers
who pulled me out of the hole in my head
and gave me the strength to carry the dead
into my concert, a symphonic life
for its what they give me, when we get lost in the night.

There’s her sweet, succulent
voice soothing your sorrows
in your ear.
Like soliloquies, soft
sonatas surround your once
dark shadows.
What compares to the composition
of music? Of operatic opposition?
Of triads and miscommunication,
the minor scales know not what to say
when the evening slides away.
You’re asleep, though not dreaming.
I suppose you never do,
just when the sky began to turn white,
it rained again misty blue.
I’m cold,
but not for you.
I think of young Amadeus
in his prime,
he’d never guess I’d turn him
to rhyme.
We’d could create clever jokes
together, near the volcanoes of
Italy,
I’d be his best symphony.
Then,
I’d wake up from this dream.

Soft piccolo chirps,
Lovely flutes hoot in the trees;
Cricket violins.
*
Cricket violins,
The field oboes howl with grace;
Under soft moonlight.
*
Under soft moonlight,
Percussion hooves beat the woods;
Symphonic nightfall.

Theft of echo’s
Remains of a rhythm
Ballads of the soul
A vivid threading
Of silence woven
Captured by will
Impressions in air
Flying on severed wings
Of burning design
Orange flamed fingers
Lighting the darkness
Of the past
On tongues of merriment
Symphonies crafted
Lonely walks amongst
Moments of divination
Fragrant and glowing
The song in her eyes
Life’s gift embraced…
