who survives death?
If you are a spiritualist,
you have faith that we all do.
If you are religious, you might be more discerning
believing only a chosen few do.
Mom and I liked to go on country drives,
she drove fast and I feared for our lives;
we got lost most of the time,
in lush scenery sublime;
Oh, don't worry ! 'Cause we always survives !
Down long winding roads many farms we passed,
but because they were a blur I looked fast;
we sped by brown mooing cows,
and startled farmers on ploughs;
later, I exclaimed . . . Mom that was a blast !
Boomers from here to anon,
What turned us all on?
Our blue jeans of love,
Marched for peaceful doves,
Sun baking for brown.
Skin blotches do cast frown,
Our denim survives,
Silvers staying alive,
So far, so good, I'm stating,
Freckles still proliferating,
Feeling young never grows old,
We're boomers, do be told!
My horse's haunches sway,
Saunter up hillocks and down a valley path,
Above a ridge off and on: a village where some people fish,
Phosphorescent flotsam washed ashore.
Green embers breathe as if through shriveled lungs.
Wax in contrast to the gloaming dark that's coming on.
Shrubbery shadows lengthen, enlarging blacknesses.
Crickets ratchet down their temperatures.
The earth cools in wan mirage.
Time lapsed, the stars make
A slow, quiet carousel of lights.
It circles far above us disengaged.
Wings of crows scoop pools of air,
Then dive down open maws
On tiny, furred crawlers shocked stock still.
Crows chalk their caws across the night.
A copse will grow into a stand of oaks.
The vintage children like to climb.
Gnarled limbs reminding them of fiction sailing ships.
Hand over fist to where the topmost rigging is.
For now, people and trees are bottled tiny on a shelf.
At dry dock like some whittled models are.
Until the oak is christened keel and frame
And of agers live lives and make their livelihoods at sea. (9/18/22)
Who in life
only survives,
truly I say to you:
The life does not relish... !
It's like being in prison,
without water and bread
forsaken to perish
Sensual lady, surrender your heart
Unveil your soul to me.
Never forget the power of love
For now,and forever, for all eternity.
Languish in the love I give
Overwhelmed with the passion that drives,
Welcome all the love that I give
Every breath in our bodies still thrives.
Remember true love always survives.

love survives every hurt,
every unbalance, every regrouping
love survives every disappointment,
every catastrophe, every setback
love survives thanks to optimism and hope
love depends on uplifting words, warm arms,
and daily smiles, love survives
Love is being there for them every day.
A disappointed love taken away.
Cupid’s aim is higher than we believe.
We search for the one who will never leave.
Love is kind when our mundane tasks are done.
Love can be laughter, joy, and gobs of fun.
God gives us empathetic eyes to see.
Expecting happiness for you and me.
Love comes from flowers, from air, and the sky.
Love survives death, for our souls never die.
Love comes from lambs, puppies, furry kitties.
Love sings her song in cute little ditties.
Worthy treasure hunt, love is all around.
Your soul will know when the right one is found.

Chicago blizzard
cheeks hardened by sheer cold of it
her hot pink coat warms up winter’s view delectably
Enticing crazies sneaky-peek-viewing her daringly underneath prying wives eyes
This is love for me
Love is the distance between you and me
Anxious waves anchor pain
At shores of soul's sea
Chasing moments of union and lucid thoughts
Swallowing bitter loneliness pills
Unseen future holds turbulent fate's toss
Love is dream that your presence enriches
Beneath quiet hush of starry nights
Memories vibrate treading truss bridges
It is scripting letters in drawer unsent
That I inked on thousand pages
As I wander to catch your lost scent
Love is rainbow rising from yonder lands
From prism of your embrace's dew
Driving away melancholy by songbirds' band
Love is the sole reason I am alive
Even though you are miles apart
Against time in your oceans my streams dive

Marx and Engels wrote their words,
proclaimed them out ‘next step,’
then stepped upon one hundred million
corpses they left lying dead.
People, they will not work without pay,
even for the good of society,
it was clear back then as it is now,
their words can’t survive reality.
Aziz blazed bright with Allah’s will,
and wrote Shariah into the laws,
but the young ones listened to pop,
and the western movies, they saw.
Aziz got mad and declared that it
“was God’s will, all must see!”
Still people drank and sang out loud,
such idea can’t survive reality.
Freddy was a very peaceful man,
a Ghandi-type, who turned the cheek,
but when he found his daughter forced
revenge he went to seek.
And though he knew beating them
was weakness and fragility,
as he watched them fall he knew that no
fancy words could survive reality.
The professor once knew every school
that thought deep on profound things,
He could lecture on Plato, Buddha, Confucius,
to the table all views he could bring.
Then one day he quit to go flip burgers,
at a food cart down by the sea,
when friends asked him why he only said
“No philosophy survives reality.”
Man Lives, Nature Stands And Sweet Earth Survives
Man lives on, by moments in night and day,
oft raging beast of red dust.
World fights back- come with what it may,
man lives on, for we must.
Nature stands eternal, and quietly balks,
slowly moving, power displayed.
Watching man's foolish ways and talk,
destruction so proudly made.
Sweet earth survives, as it rightly should,
despite its great marauding beast.
Deep destroyer of sky, stone and wood,
ravenous devil looking to feast.
Man lives, Nature stands and sweet earth survives.
While we live with massive greed ruling our lives!
Robert J. Lindley, 5-17-2017
NOTE:
Man lives on,
Nature stands eternal,
Sweet earth survives,
FOR HOW LONG?????
FOR
HOW
LONG
Does love really exist , or is it only in a place where a million stars remain in a place where pain can't remain . In vain men strive for greater and noble pursuits without prevail . If this life is prolonged by reasons unknown in years uncertain what may come . In my youth you think my mind daffy by its unyielding thoughts with your dismay. But love must remain in this world , for it is without self even this inhumane place still good deeds remain . For love cannot die it is rooted deep in man's souls in its distillation of men's evil hearts . In love wisdom is born amongst the elements of wisdom love is at its heart . So call me a fool laugh as you may , but love is my strength therefore I shall remain while all others fade . In love I have reason to remain in a place inhumane . Yet with loves wisdom even in inhumane I can sustain even though it remains hard . My pour soul is enhanced , enriched in loves wise embrace so I will remain while others fade .
I know
the words barely
speak of what lies hidden
deep inside the heart of your soul
it's me.
