If the world was ending,
I'd wanna be next to you;
witnessing the last sunset,
in the mirror of your pearl-shaped eyes
I'd kiss the oysters that cradle them,
one last time before it's too late.
I'd trace your bittersweet tears
with a trail of kisses,
tasting the salty ocean that
burns up your wounds and fears.
untangling your brunette mesh,
as they tighten their grasp
afraid to let go;
I'll embrace you,
until your ice-cold body
melts into my burning chest.
blinded by the myths of forever,
will the dawn rise on us again, ever?
So I'mma love you every night,
like it's the last night.
Your smile fades, the dimples too
no longer creasing your ivory skin,
i can see the sunglow and the sunset
vanishing just like me and you.
Your lips tremble,
whispering fractured syllables,
I'll kiss them for a while,
cherishing the screaming silence,
and die with a smile.

Summer, and the sunglow hours are creeping, so slowly by
with red ruby treasures, waiting placidly, all day in the sky
But, twilight finally ends, with the perfume of black blooms

Pretty meadow
Laced in sunglow
Tall grasses woven wildly free
Scents of lovely lavender roam
While butterflies daintily waltz
Underneath a tired willow tree
Scents of lovely lavender roam
Meadow paths, calming those who flee
Hurriedly, to arrive at glee
While butterflies daintily waltz
Pretty meadow
Scents of lovely lavender roam
Captivating a meadow bee
While butterflies daintily waltz
Laced in sunglow
Laced in sunglow
Pretty meadow

Sunflower
Sequestered in the secret arbor of our solstice solitude
Umber petals unfurl in unity’s perfect circle
Nestled in the flowing softness of the mystic bower’s cover
Flirty touches flutter to expose our growing ardor
Lost in blossoms arching life of loyalty and trust,
Open center seeds seek the ever nascent sun,
We rise on wings to follow light in adoration’s ringlet tresses
Everlasting sunglow captured - never dimmed by summer’s heat
Radiating light absorbed from ochre's dancing gift
Summer meadow bloom embraces our devotion’s golden caress.

NIGHT TO DAY
Sun kissed horizon in indigo line
Sparkling sunglow steadily slowly declined.
Feeble shimmering rays no longer to shine.
Leisurely appeared bizarre dusty dusk
wearing grave mystifying charcoal mask
chasing delightful twilight completed task.
Tranquil turquoise night got entry.
Firmament to spread starry tapestry.
Starburst, shooting stars show mystery.
Mesmerizing Moon oscillating slow.
Reflecting fluorescent luminous glow.
On Milky Way silhouette to follow.
Early Dawn! Eyes of Sun open widen
Sky on azure beauty, stars forbidden.
Yet Stellar Empire still exists: Hidden.

I tug my vibrant summertime skirt
but it unravels from a chair ;
Reaching dutifully for muse's pen
this mind now becomes a haze.
I seek to light an imaginative flame
still, phrases yield not to me,
and with despair in the glaze of sunglow
imagination's furnace would not spark
on crushed pages seemingly obscure--
Beneath verses smashed by juggled letters
my fresh ink muddying through heated hours
and papers remain blank with dead-end rhymes.

Giddy with excitement
of two souls' delightment.
One tiny taste of a moments bliss
found within one simple kiss.
Carrying on with wings of flight
Mouths open invoking wetness-- landslide.
Much euphoria & sweetness await.
How, on this day, did come such fate?
Once only an object of affection from afar
hast come making my heart sing & giggle & soar.
For from only mere seconds in continuum of time
bottling up these fleeting glances of ours-- yours & mine.
From moonglow
To sunglow.
Once skyglow
Igniting soulglow.
Now laughs my soul
in this everglow.

The Rose
If I live my life quietly as the rose among the roses in the garden ~
Gently spreading my joy in fragrant perfume,
Will I not find serenity reaching up
For sunlight giving the flower warmth to bloom
Returning life to life?
If I live my life softly as the color of the rose among the roses ~
Reflecting the sunrise and sunset,
No matter that my companion rose has
Color like my own or the same perfume –
Each of us shines with glory on a separate stem.
If I live my life with dignity as the rose among the roses, asking only rain ~
And sunglow to grow above the thorns,
Will I not find completeness in the simplicity
Of touching yet another heart
With my vitality, my color and my joy?
If I live my life peacefully as the rose among the roses, not always visible ~
But knowing the touch of the wind
Will I not find satisfaction building in my stem
A bud, like me, not identical,
Returning to my creator the vision for humanity.

After a cacophony of ramblings,
day bows gently---
Infants slumber with ease in cradles,
lanterns flicker above tavern stools
as mellow winds drift around gold-hued roads
paving the way
for flights of quietude:
Somehow, mothers hush their loved ones
to tend angel dreams
before sunglow ascends… while elders pat
loyal dogs in tenements far from home:
And young girls close overused iPods,
widows reminisce; single fathers
unlock the fence, tired—
Somehow, heartbroken women lay
on empty chairs alone,
Lovers fondle sigh deeply relieved.
This is nightfall. Its language of voices
breathes through different tones,
climbing into our hearts
where we exhale syllabic pain and glory,
until robin-wings unravel our incantations
to liberate us against hidden wails.

When we first met, in love we used to glide
on waves of bliss like pairs of sunglow swans,
now we slowly totter, and try to hide
our orthopaedic socks and thick long johns.
We still hold hands like back on that first date
but now it's less a gesture, decades on
else I'd walk off ahead then have to wait
while you found something firm to lean upon.
You said you'd like a skirt to match your eyes
I did my very best but must confess
I went to every shop but no-one buys
or maybe no-one sells a bloodshot dress.
you run your fingers through my hair a bit,
these days I marvel just how fast it goes
these greying locks ,well, what remains of it,
from off my scalp and southwards to my nose.
Annoying habits met with just a sigh,
you snoring on the sofa after tea
or ducking as my nail clippings shoot by,
or leaving used bags out when making tea.
Love's outer shell is merely just it's name,
inside it's precious pearl remains the same.

The distant brass haystacks tune on shorn ground.
Vanilla fence posts chime in saffron sun.
Adjacent jonquils trumpet lemon sound
as amber goldenrod and china mums
in stil de grain complete a trio 'round
high jasmine shrubs, which in the octaves run
aureolin to beige. Nearby is found
a vegetable garden where blond onions,
squash and carrots in harmony abound
with notes of maize and amber. Faun melons
grace a clef of trellis where ecru-crowned
warblers and the sunglow-breasted Hutton's
Vireo twitter in tune with corn-downed,
bumblebees and drone: summer has begun.

Golden sunglow
molten heat rises against slender shadows
once flowering trees...
tall skeletons without their leaves
their pink pedals once plush
lost in infinite sands outnumbering stars dust
Glowing white stratus melting like snow
over miles everlasting where nothing shall grow
Distant grand canyons and red sandstone mesas
the sun harms the lost and faithless
The camel's path...ancient sandwriting
guiding its followers until saved
the lost find thier grave
The day journey's slow the lost age quick
night promises an inviting gift
yet cool darkness seems true as myth
When faith's kept and all is hopeless despite
the odds the lost find solace in day's last light
