as You fill the vacuum with grace
sufficing me against guilt-caused dearth
toward triumphant bliss I can share...

The smoke is flaming inside of me, and it isn’t dwelling away or even sufficing. They replenish my lungs in exasperation as I flunk to inhale a tad bit of reinvigorated air.
You slaughtered me in a way nobody has. Whereas now they beg for the forgiveness of the broken. They measly take a stand and testify against it. I whisper to myself like a madman, for you shan’t be convicted of manslaughter, and I shan’t forgive you in any way probable.
Your actions don’t merit punishment behind bars,
you deserve death as I have reached my own demise a million times over; bear the burden I have felt, one that cannot slide open the portico and make a legitimate run for it. I let it in me, fused it, relived it.
I inhaled the smoke of a Cigar and let it ruin me all in all, then I testified against all odds;

A new year has rounded the corner,
with grave news hard on its heels.
A father's friend at kinship's dawn,
a clan's family, by life's sudden dusk.
In so many respects my father's twin,
he could look in a mirror and see Chuck.
To say 'brother' seems not strong enough,
not nearly a sufficing title for the man.
Growing up, he was simply an uncle,
another sarcastic voice in the choir.
Shipmate, soundboard, confidant, kin;
fellow gamer, writer, musical connoisseur.
Buddy, mentor, verbal sparring partner;
hilarious, caring, intelligent, smart-ass.
Always a phone call or a flight away,
each of these things, to each of us or to all.
Thirty years his junior -
yet he asked my advice on,
and I got to be present for,
his first, and sadly only, tattoo.
He got to meet my wife last year,
for which I am beyond thankful.
He sought her counsel for his next tattoo,
which will now be another of hers.
An easy man to like,
with an easy smile and easier laugh,
now a hard man to miss -
but with good stories, of a greater man.
And for those who knew him;
be grateful for having known the dead,
and hold to hope that 'bye' -
is only for now.
Exposed through faith
to miracles of b r e a d multiplication
for multitudes’ f e e d i n g---
my heart dreads to witness panic at the food bank
triggered by covetousness, skepticism
along greediness, unbelief, selfishness
or the loathesome scam.
Having experienced blessed bounty
from heaven’s Manna…
let's share Bread of heaven
the Saviour Jesus Christ
supplying
sufficing
satisfying
soul’s need.
May we hear HIM
in His loving declaration
and respond to His gracious offering---

The monuments are stately;
The churches are impressive.
The frescoes and the statues
Are amazing and expressive.
The ruins do proliferate,
Their grandeur still inspiring,
While trattorias beckon
If your energy's expiring.
Yet best of all the offerings
That render Rome exquisite
Are the streets set up for strolling
If you have the chance to visit.
The cobblestones and alleyways
Meander and invite you
To step inside the many shops
Intended to delight you.
Then suddenly, around a bend,
A fountain looms, enticing,
Surrounded by gelato stands,
For pick-me-ups sufficing.
To people-watch or meet head-on
Historical remains,
Just roam the streets and you will feel
Italian in your veins.
