Staring into the abyss of crises’ appearance
I’m stricken with panic, disclosing my unbelief and ignorance…
Yet with God’s radiance, I can behold His gracious sustenance
Indeed assuring His provisions of bountiful abundance
Midst wellness of healthy satisfaction-extravagance;
Thus, I thank Him for His timely deliverance.
Staring into the abyss of insecurity’s disillusionment
I’m gripped with anxiety’s tormenting predicament…
Yet with God’s vision, I can perceive thru His enlightenment
Indeed opening my sight to His sufficing contentment
Midst His blessings for spiritual fulfillment;
Thus, I praise Him for His compassionate engagement.
Staring into the abyss of uncertain future
I’m attacked by doubt’s torture…
Yet with God’s illumination, I can see His grace-gesture
Indeed expressed by His Scripture
Midst His promises for triumphant faith’s venture;
Thus, I worship Him along holiness virtues’ posture.
Staring into the abyss of life’s grueling difficulties
I’m paralyzed, confronted along terrorism’s realities…
Yet with God’s lens, I can see His miraculous verities
Indeed highlighting His mighty goodness-certainties
Midst His power* controlling universe entities;
Thus, I trust Him with my yielded faculties.

January 1 Scripture Meditations Based on Genesis 1-3
Key Verse - Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY BEGINNING
You created me wonderfully
You formed me marvelously
You shaped me amazingly
You filled me against my void, sufficing me abundantly…
I surely thank You wholeheartedly.
You are my light
You are my watcher at night
You are my day starter right
You are my firmament-guard so bright…
I really thank You with faith’s might.
You greet me every morning
You protect me in between lunch and evening
You secure me in my sleep’s dreaming and groaning
You keep me in Your goodness of feasting and dining…
I joyously thank You for Your constant intervening.
You made me in Your image and after Your likeness
You let me have dominion over Your creatures by Your greatness
You blessed me toward multiplying fruitfulness
You subdue my pride through Your replenishing gentleness…
I truly thank You for Your graciousness.
You give me product-yielding capacity
You bestow me with work-diligence ability
You sanctify me to labour in Your field of spirituality
You comfort me in Your rest as I cleave to Your presence-serenity…
I earnestly thank You along Your gifts’ bounty.
You defend me from the subtle serpent’s deception
You encompass me with Your assurance-sanction
You pull me against curses’ destruction
You drive me toward Your protection from enmity’s sorrow-infliction affliction…
I verily thank You, praising You for my soul’s eternal salvation.
You rule over me with Your commandment
You prop me from sin-caused miseries by Your encouragement
You love me, calling me with Your life-commitment
You place me in Your heart of genuine contentment…
I triumphantly thank You and Your sovereign control every moment.

I have memories of this place.
I made friends.
I made enemies.
I lived within the walls of this block.
In the corridor.
In the bathroom.
When I leave, I'll leave my mark.
On the walls.
On the doors.
My name, my message, with the marker.
'Bye, Miss U :('
'I will miss you, always.'
But don't think it's limited to these marks.
There are some other stuff that I would do.
I'm gonna write 'Don't Forget Us'.
And I'll make sure you don't do too.
I'll lock the almirah, flush the keys.
Take off the plug outlet of the geyser.
Cut the wires, set them free.
Break the commode, it's just a teaser.
Mind if I shut all the doors from inside?
Giving you a hard time opening them up.
Sufficing my sadistic mental disability.
'Hostel assistant? Warden? Wassup?!'
I'll steal, I'll destroy and cause you wounds.
'Cause for no reason I'm angry at you.
Weren't you already annoyed when I was here.
So I'll leave some marks that stick like glue.
My boys, my pals and the days we had had.
Memorable to bits, their dedication to cue.
I'm gonna miss the times we spent.
(And how I secretly spoilt them too. ;) )

Magnificent grace of the Almighty
awesomely, gloriously iridescent
supplying bounty's abundance
enriching my soul, sufficing my spirit
with divine wealth eternal.
Loving kindness from the Sovereign
assures bliss-filled peace
subduing carnal yearnings
despite chastisements, never torturous
enabling my service-fruition of faith-ascent.
*2Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

(an All Poetry feat to walk in
the poetic feet of Robert Frost)
Bucolic New England, circa
Early twentieth century New England
awash with dynamic harmonic leisureliness,
when much of North America favored rustic
visual whirled wide webbed watercolor
waiting afield at dusk, the thrum
of nature all abuzz didst feed thine
dizzily green jovial mien
unlike mean Gary Lewis
veritable innocence and naiveté
rollicked with mine lanky frame
relishing ambling into my own quietude
an infinite breadth, length and scope
of infrequently trammeled near virgin
woodland paths grown over with brambles
nonetheless a faintly trussed harbinger
marked by weatherbeaten
for sale signposts
with here and there an abandoned plow
long since given over
to rust when the pasture
seasons elapsed since
farmer(s) left unharvested
fecund fields absent
the cloven hoof,
and deprived enrichment
manure, sans ungulates
ceased sufficing healthy
free ranging bovines,
where etudes punctuated
the terribly gross fresh air,
now no longer audibly quickening,
snapchatting, nor twittering
with the last word of a bluebird
deathly silence now 'cept
the wind in the willows
whispering woebegone laments
tree tops pining to cradle
idle youthful dreamers
boughs devoid of
psalm quivering romantic songstress
clattering debris merely
delivering echoed whooshing refrains
continually disintegrating among
in a disused graveyard
prescient ken aches with nostalgia
hallucinogenic nightmare slams
irrevocably shut the door in the dark
closed for good upon the onset,
wrought genocide against
the vanishing Red man,
a ghostly scarification meaningless ritual
wrested, removed, and highjacked
from indigenous peoples
without rhyme, nor reason
as fraternities no
longer pledge allegiance.
I reminisce, I miss those days since:
Oblivion can never vanquish cherished childhood memory…
bonding our family together around bounty’s blessings
as Dad and Mom in their acclaimed cooking acumen
kept satiating everyone’s cravings with chef choice
we labeled as our comfort food.
Obviously, our Sunday’s victory is enjoying the Lord’s day
prioritizing church gathering as prompted by parents
yet my siblings and I (decades ago) confessed
luncheon time indeed as best ever while
feasting on our comfort food.
Over home dinner table of God-bestowed cornucopia
our brood would huddle together, mirth-filled
delighted to hear Dad’s thanksgiving prayer
with Mom’s admonition of chewing well
then, we savoured our comfort food*.
Oh, now that my brothers, sister and I have our own families
parents’ legacy of compassion, care, and faith lingers on
especially in fellowships where nostalgia creeps in
as “ethnic menus”** of Dad and Mom are served
sufficing our comfort food of blissful partaking~~~
I reminisce, I miss...
*Our native delicacies: Combination of “Pinapaitan,” “pinikpikan,” “dinuguan” with mixed vegetables, water cress, and/ or snail broth.
**Proverbs 27:27 And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household.

God is almighty Who governs graciously
indeed blessing lives tremendously
sufficing with peace-contentment blissfully...
We thank Him for granting our desires according to His best wisely.
God is eternal Who gives everlasting life's preciousness
truly securing hearts from deceitfulness
assuring heaven through trust in Jesus Christ's sacrifice-completeness...
We praise Him, worshipping in the beauty of His holiness.
God is omniscient Who ushers along His direction
always teaching souls to follow biblical instruction
subduing foolish counsels midst truth-admonition…
We submit to Him our decisions He approves by His Word’s function.
God is merciful Who disciplines by righteous chastising
just in reproving stubbornness, not pleasing
smiting perversions, unbelief, idolatry-bracing...
We entrust to Him our steps while obedience exercising.
God is omnipotent Who empowers through His might, readily constant
verily upholding faith to become fruitfully jubilant
strengthening reaching-out pursuits, lovingly triumphant...
We yield to Him Who makes us spiritually vigilant.
God is tenacious Who asserts holy commandment
and in driving zeal to accomplish by divine engagement
enabling persistence against failures’ detriment…
We honour Him for fixing our duties around His commitment.
God is compassionate Who props service with authority
likewise meeting needs from His provision-bounty
propelling dedication to advance His kingdom’s priority…
We glorify Him, our King*in His supreme sovereignty.

Having commenced in God's salvation grace
I continue* in His sanctification grace
...calling unto Him through His supplication grace
...cleaving to His satisfaction grace
...clinging along His sufficing grace
...communing with Him by His strengthening grace
...choosing to stay inside His settling grace...
Being crucified to Him with His sealing grace
I'm clothed by His steadfast grace.
As His chosen according to His Scriptures' so great grace
I'm circumspectly striving to live for Him upon His straightening grace
...comforted, compassed around His spirited grace
...cared, cheered for toward His serving grace
...commended upon His saluting grace!

“Deus Pascit Corvis” adorns the crest of the House of Raven.
A literal translation: “God feeds even the ravens”;
The living Word might translate: God provides for all, both good and bad.
The House of Raven chose this creed, chose this yoke.
The thought of this stirs in my soul, that my Father’s people would invite,
Both his neighbor and his enemy alike to dine at his own table, in the service of our Lord.
The crest itself depicts a Corvis, or Raven,
Surrounded by a shield of gold.
A simple standard, though symbolic of so much:
Leadership and ingenuity, prudent and persevering, tough but sufficing.
To carry this name, to have the honor of birth to this lineage,
I hold only the deepest of gratitude.
The Lord gave my Father the strength,
To be a model for God in my young life.
He based his paternal guidance on the Word of the Son,
And planted the seed of love in my heart that it may one day grow to bloom,
With faith. That I might be the oak for my family that my Father was for me.
Blessed is the Lord, for my Father and for his Father who provided the grit and the resource,
And carved out the pedestal on which our family stands.
I now believe, in my heart of hearts, that all of this was given, the Corvis Patriarch,
Modest but persistent, for the service of our Lord,
That we should strive to do all things for the Glory of God through the Word of the
Son.
January 7 Scripture Meditations Based on Genesis 18-20
Key Verse – Genesis 18:33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham…
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR COMMUNING WITH ME
Thank You for communing with me…
Appearing unto me with Your loving authority
In the plains of my prayer-supplication’s serenity
While I lift up my eyes, looking unto Your assurance certainty
And rest in Your comforting tranquility.
Thank You for communing with me…
Meeting me with Your quick readiness
In the ground of my frustration-loneliness
While I beg for favour in Your sight along neediness
And ask that You hasten to help me in my broken-heartedness.
Thank You for communing with me…
Setting before me Your sufficing provisions
In the tent of my cravings afflicted by dissatisfaction
While I yearn for Your pleasures to fill my contentment-portion
And seek Your surety of resources for my blessed function.
Thank You for communing with me…
Commanding me to keep Your holy way
In the mountain of my life-building pursuits everyday
While I believe that there is nothing too hard for You as You say
And trust You with Your time appointed of no delay.
Thank You for communing with me…
Forgiving me with Your pardoning mercy
In the heart-cave of my very grievous sins’ deficiency
While I repent toward Your righteousness-fervency
And turn from wickedness-occupancy.
Thank You for communing with me…
Compassing me with Your gentle chastisement
In the door of my disobedience locked by pride’s entrapment
While I depart from consuming iniquity’s judgment
And escape to Your offered peaceful preservation-settlement.
Thank You for communing with me…
Restoring me into Your warm fellowship
In the soul-gate of my integrity that follows Your leadership
While I fear You reverentially, honouring You in my stewardship
And submit to Your correction toward praise-filled worship.

Wondrous miracle of majestic height
Christ’s resurrection* vanquishes death’s blight
Assuring redemption for celestial flight!
Beautifying indeed Gospel story
Christ arose, and such exalts Deity’s glory
Verily sealing believers’ blessed victory!
Sufficing eternal life’s divine extravagance
Blissfully offering peace-abundance
The resurrected Christ anchors faith’s elegance!
Freedom against sins’ grievous lockdown-chain
Prevails midst grace, devoid of hatred stain
Through Jesus Christ Who does forever reign!
Resurrection triumphs heaven’s Almighty voice
Silencing skeptics with their reproaching noise…
Now, grateful, in CHRIST* we trust and earnestly rejoice!
1Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Walking together in love by God’s compassion
We can share victoriously our assured salvation
While thanking the Lord for His loving action
That freed our souls from sin’s penalty and hell’s damnation.
Walking together in truth by God’s holiness-fire
We can strive toward righteousness and for His favour aspire
While honouring the Lord for teaching us what His standards require
For our testimony to shine against worldliness’ mire.
Walking together in kindness by God’s graciousness
We can continue humbly victorious in our prayer-earnestness
While trusting the Lord Who listens to our cry midst hopelessness
Answering our pleas by His generosity’s bountifulness.
Walking together in gentleness by God’s mercy
We can be strengthened in our service-persistency
While cleaving to the Lord Who upholds us through His divine efficiency
Enabling our faith in optimizing its useful potency.
Walking together in wisdom by God’s promises’ exposure
We can decide prudently in our choice-measure
While learning from the Lord Who enriches with heavenly treasure
To direct our priorities toward great commission’s fulfillment pleasure.
Walking together in sharing God’s blessing
We can remain grateful in our labour-pressing
While abiding in the Lord Who pours His provisions always sufficing
To meet our needs with miracles undoubtedly surprising.
Walking together in joy by God’s leadership
We can become sweeter in our brother-sister relationship
While esteeming the Lord Who encloses us around His fellowship
Kindling our spirits toward constant genuine revival-worship.

Enough I have,
but more, would make do, better still.
Sufficing without icing is a nice thing to do,
but ample sufficiency is defeat, a condescending deceit.
For we all want bigger apportioned portions.
Want more than our fair share of the hearty fare.
Making do is so hard to do, but so easy to see through.
