Passing by
on yearly round
veil of ice
or scorching
ground
ripping prints
of year
gone by
adding one
more festive
light
to the birthday
cake of time
cheers of crowds
sparkling lights
fireworks booms
coloring sky
popping corks
jubilee sounds
glittering hats
masks and smiles
all on earth
by life united
like clock hands
when midnight
strikes
at the banquet
feast of time
mercy gift
from on high
time to shed
rags of habits
for a garment
of light
circling same
itinerary
with unfolding
love surprises
New Year first
candlelight
lit in Bethlehem
Holy Night
Anno Domini
zero time
Life of life
light of love
guiding steps
to eternal joy

When a shining light
comes of age, one can truly
admire, its beauty.
For which is greater?
The star that stays the same, or
the one that dares leap?
For a shooting star -
has both a poignant path and
clear trajectory.

In the dark of night
I seen a light
Was it a Star from a far?
Or a Planet?
Or another sun?
And as I learned,
Could it be
When time begun?
You see they say
If you look to a
Certain way
Through the universe,
What you may
See is times course.
Or is it
A Rock, shooting across the sky,
To make a wish from?
As you watch it go by.
You look up and wonder
And close your eyes
And a dream comes true
No matter how many
Years go by.
D.S.
I wished for a horse. My whole childhood and more.
Comet is his name. Dream on and make a wish again.
I awoke to a glorious sun rise
And a sky shades of red and of pink
The sun was radiant like a huge orange globe
Oh it truly was magnificent
Then slowly clouds would appear
Wonderfully fluffy and white
Like snowcapped mountains
So high in the sky
How I wanted to climb them
so I did ‘twas just I
On reaching the top
Never wanting to stop
Looking down
The whole world I could see
The Moon surrounded by so many stars
With Saturn and Jupiter
Venus and Mars
For what more
could a gal like me ask
Then I discovered
This day was the last
As my soul rose above
Leaving all those I love
For today was the day that I died
Not scary at all ~ truly beautiful
New adventures for me lay ahead
With my eyes open wide
On this day that I died
Not my last ~ but my first day instead…

Quote By Poet: "Make a wish. Will it come true. Only time will tell."
Today is my birthday,
they said make a wish and blow out your candles.
I did,
but my wish never came true.
On a star filled night they said,
take a star and make a wish.
I did,
how long do I need to wait for it to come true.
My trust I put in you,
I did what I was told to do.
Is making a wish,
a waste of time.
All I can say,
is boohoo.
The Only Star For Me
There’s a bright star in the sky and it’s called
“Mothers Above”
where angels gather to shine o’er us with motherly love.~ Quote poets own ~
There's a star brighter than any other
That is my irreplaceable mother
Always kindly, caring, gentle and sweet
Without her being here life's incomplete.
Mother's life wasn't cushy, I knew full well
Yet mom did not complain or ever tell
Secrets from her heart she'd never discuss
She just lived life without making a fuss.
Mother was beauteous inside and out
An earth angel was she without a doubt
Raising five daughters must have been a task
Working too with hardly time to relax.
As are all mothers she was a bright light
Shining for us every day, every night
Now mom’s looking down from heaven above
Still smiling, caring and beaming her love.

Twenty-Seven Club--not open to all,
nor is joining top of most people's list.
A club of sadness and shock midst the pall
of last birthdays--twenty-eighth was just missed.
Many well-knowns have passed at that young age,
to a better place, fans and music gone.
Rock stars overdose, leave a darkened stage
fans lay sweet bouquets, and then they move on.
Many don't look forward to twenty-six,
so fearful it might be their farewell year.
Feeling doomed to join Joplin and Hendrix,
yet still infuse the drugs they hold most dear.
This presents a huge conundrum to those
who want to keep their cake and eat it, too.
Can we feel sorrow when it's they who chose
a life expecting they'll pay club dues soon.

Like the morning sunlight
You came into our humble abode
And dispelled all shades of darkness
And ever since then
Your brilliance continues to glow
My little star of the night
Twinkle for it is your lot to do so
The world is waiting with bated breath
For the birth of a big star
Happy birthday my little angel
Good morning and continue to win
Pass the word

O Christmas Star
you’re kinda far.
Far kinder still
in Bethlehem,
but the inn was sold
out, and a birthday
spent with the lowest rent.
Humble I,
knees on pavement
see you star,
so far off,
not so near the moon,
though my fingers
think they know —
the world is flat.
Two planets fly
somewhere way out there
“I am here! I am near!
Do you see me here?”
No acknowledgement
for the whole world is looking up
but the babe in the manger
dreamt of me
‘fore I was born.
Think of that!

A Falcon soared skyward
Gracing and inspiring the world.
She dived from the peak
And attacked with her beak.
She poises her wings
And pierces the mind with a wink.
Her eyes are like two jewels in the sky.
No doubt, she is the Queen of the sky.
The tree is her place of rest
Above the stars is set her nest.
Emulate her diligence.
And never play with her intelligence,
If only I could be your falconer,
I would hunt your admirers.
Oh take me! Carry me on your wings
To the sky where Angels sing.

N-ight star in the sky
I-s also a light of day;
C-utting the root of lies,
K-eeping the dark away.
T-he star in the sky
I-s also the true minister;
O-pening the eye of mind,
S-haring the truth of the Father.
E-arly tenth of January, his energy is high;
N-ations of the world see the star in the sky.
As you celebrate my love
I remember you as always
My beginning
My Inspiration
My all
As you celebrate
I remember you as always
My joy
My happiness
My stability
As you celebrate
I remember you as always
My today
My tomorrow
My eternity
As you celebrate
I remember you as always
The Bone of my bones
The flesh of my flesh
As you celebrate my sunshine
Remember you are my star of the night
Twinkle eternally or life will lose its essence
Happy birthday
WISH UPON A STAR
eyes drawn upward —
like a candle on a cake
first birthday or too old
the lottery is billions upon billions
tickets bought
blowing dandelion seeds for surety
tremor of seedlings like flesh
burning your palm
wanting your death
one star stands out amidst the myriads
richer than all kings
waiting for the poor in spirit
to rejoice with open arms
while money strangles the sea
crushed and fluid plastic —
even the wisest heart pinched
the saint patiently waits
for the sweetest answer
placed in folded hands
and worn out knees
a Father smiles and grants
eternity and all the treasury
the inheritance overflows
a luckless star fizzles
the blessed one glows

R-each the highest star,
U-ntil you touch the sky;
B-eneath the wide heaven
Y-ou begin soaring high.
A-im for the highest star,
N-ever stop making a dream;
N-either eye will turn blind to another shining gleam.
Z-oom to the highest star,
U-ntil you reach the blue lane;
L-ife won't be satisfied
U-nless there's no more pain.
E-agerly soar to the highest star
T-ill you see the glorious abode;
A-llow your shoulder to remove the hard and heaviest load.
V-ie for the highest star,
I-n order to feel the glory;
L-et your heart endure the ache,
L-et your mind think of ecstasy.
A-fter the saddest moment,
N-either wing won't fly far;
O-n October twenty-fourth, reach the highest star.
