OH DEAR! I'VE LOST ME SPECS!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With a twitch of her tail and a frown,
Suzy scoured the roots and the ground.
     “Have you seen my frames?
They’re not just for squirrel games!
Without them, I’m quite upside down!”

With acorns and nuts all around,
She’d trip over roots on the ground.
     “Oh dear!” she would say,
      “Where’d my glasses stray?
I swear they were here, safe and sound!”

Then a wise old owl hooted near,
“Your specs are right here, my dear!
     On your nose, they sit,
      You silly little twit,
Just look in the mirror, you’ll cheer!”

Premium MemberWhite Accumulated Specs of Dirt Falling Snow Blizzard

The distance spec
 Falls onto the crevice
Fills the planes and lands clear
Translucent and frozen white accumulates
Bizarre surroundings frozen dew
Unstoppable constant accumulation turns into blizzard

I Want You

I want you,
To be a drop of water,
From those dreamy clouds
Falling apart,
Through this cold cold air,
Fastening on its path,
Dropping on my expensive specs,
Making it's way down to the frame,
Almost a minute it must take,
Before it slides on my cheeks,
It's size almost halved,
And when it ends itself evaporating,
I want you!

Settlement Specs Between Brothers

Bro, you ate my candy, serious business.
Chocolate will give you zits, may they never heal;
May your teeth all rot out; may you gain fifteen pounds;
May you lose your hair and have mental breakdowns.
May the good Lord punish all those who steal.
But, I want you to know, you have my forgiveness.

Now, let’s get down to the real deal
Bro, you will do all of my chores
without complaint and with vigor.
Listen well, the price gets bigger.
Say, “I’m sorry!” down on all fours
then you’ll have my word, I won’t squeal.

Halloween candy? I had a slew.
So whenever, as long as I want,
from now until Christmas Day -
your games are mine, all digi-play.
After Christmas, a settlement,
But I will keep my eyes on you.

Columbus With Specs

Dull tones smear and coddle in a gray muddle.
Cow brains munch cloud fields.
A reality steeped in foggy conjecture
until I find my spectacles.

I enter far horizons
like Columbus arriving in America;
not on the continent, but on some island
and outcrop just short of finding pay dirt.

Gradually, through the resurrection
of rods and cones, a far-seeing reality sucks
clearer vision into me - to back away
from this ‘all or nothing’ perception now
is not a practical option.

I could probably find the real America,
even Columbus did in the end, but as we know,
being rather ‘put-out’ by not having discovered India
he set out with a vim
to slaughter the locals in the name of God.

Not that reality and perception has that effect on me,
but there are times when a little myopia,
and a little less blind faith feeds the mind
until it can see both the daffodils and the dog S...t
navigating a path through both
like a New World explorer.

Chicory Specs

Yonder grow the Chicory Specs,
that glow between the eyes and flower.
Greater is their glow admired,
that faces show their pride and power.

Scattered on their stems like ladders
pulling them apart.
Relaxed to see your eyes appending.
No better face of art.

While breathing cool to vent them in.
Their hearts too cool to touch.
Lo Chicory specs to feed your soul.
No hunger quite so much.

My Grandpa's Specs

As I remember Grandpa's face
the thing that comes first to my mind
his rimless specs with thick lenses
it was a unique thing of its kind.

The thing that comes first to my mind
his hanging specs at tip of his nose
it was a unique thing of its kind
at its place even with eyes closed.

His hanging specs at tip of his nose
always there throughout the day
at its place even with eyes closed
"precious thing" he used to say.

Always there throughout the day
it was frequently forgotten by him
"precious thing" he used to say
creating chaos with his scream.

It was frequently forgotten by him
his rimless specs with thick lenses
creating chaos with his scream
as I remember Grandpa's face.
