Welcome To the Land

Welcome to the land of spies
And hypocritical lies
Where dreams
Fall apart at the seams
Welcome to the land of the fake
Where the rich and greedy take
Where celebrities have all the fame
And never have shame
Welcome to the land of creeps
Where children weep
Where all innocence is taken away
Never to see the light of day
Welcome to the land of lies
Where people die
Where there are always tears
Where people are lonely and filled with fears
Wlcome to the land of the wicked
Where everything is twisted
Dreams blend with reality
And being polite is just a formality
Welcome to the land of the free...
Do you really beileve that's what we can be?

City Lights

City lights on the horizon bright as any star,
But tame,
Controlled,
Unlike a real star's feirce untamed beauty,
A passing alien might think us a world of stars,
Our people of fire,
Our streets and buildings flames and gasses,
A land fierce and hostile,
Only existing in legends,
Some places have none or very few people of the flame,
But no,
The city stars are much to white to pass as close stars.

A Piece of Me

Everyday people ask how I'm feeling
Simply said I'm doing fine
It's the answer you'd hear most often
But it is not truly mine

When a problem arises I try to run
But it seems I don't get very far
Because standing in front of me
Is a new one filling an old scar

So just take a piece of me
You know it must be easy
Because it happens everyday
In the exact same way

When I cry people stare and laugh
They don't care that they cause it
It's just a joke and high inside
But they wouldn't ever admit

So just take a piece of me
You know it must be easy
Because it happens everyday
In the exact same way

Oh What Times

Oh what times we live in
Where even the rich and famous
Are reduced to trailer living
All those good times
When money was freely spent
Aren’t quite as free
As they once were
Oh what times we live in
Where war, crime and poverty
Are the kings that seem to reign
Where people devalue themselves
In an attempt to find something gained
Oh what times we live in
Where friend turns against friend
So many ways to love
Are constantly redefined
Where people march the streets
Proudly correcting what is right
Oh what times we live in
Where even Mother Nature
Shows her violent wrath
The winds of change
Seem to be blowing strong
All around curiosity builds
As we all seek to find
Where these winds will blow
Running round in circles
Jumping on each new thought
Raising new questions of answers already bought
Oh what times we live in
Perhaps it’s time we simply
Should pay attention to
A book written so very long ago
That throughout all the many years
Has always stood firm
In its claim to know

What Do You Think

What do you think it will take
For people to see eye to eye
Funny how we all seek the same thing
Yet somehow never agree
Funny how we never hear
But expect to be understood
Sad how we react to words
Without ever knowing their why
How we choose to ignore
The hurt and fear
In another’s eyes
While covering up our own
Each struggling to outdo the other
All the while striving
Reaching for the very same thing
Ignoring the way we’re living
We prevent the light from being seen
When the wind blows
It touches us all the same
Just like when it rains
Sunlight touches no one more
There is no discrimination
With heart and hunger pains
A man once tried to imagine
And for a moment
The world sang along
But soon words were forgotten
Lost in each other’s pride
Funny how that works
When we each try to hide
Bury the question deep inside
Until in a quiet moment all alone
Feelings rise again
And quietly we whisper
What do you think it will take my friend
For people
To see eye to eye

Power Clique

You know who they are
The people who run
Your social kingdom
We are built on them
The groups of people who are the
Power clique
But you still are just you
And you want the
Fame that they have

Africa

Please, hear my declaration, Africa,
your deserts and your plains call out to me.
Now hear my condemnation, Africa,
the killing of your people cannot be.

You are a land of plenty, Africa,
and yet this sacrifice you do embrace --
your people die each day, no food to eat.
Do you not see this is a vile disgrace?

You are a land of contrast, Africa,
from Mozambique across to Senegal.
Your nations’ apathy is cast in stone,
no ears to hear the pleas from great and small.

You’re now my inspiration, Africa,
to make my voice be heard across the land.
Create a new foundation, Africa,
your nations must unite and take a stand.

Africa, all your nations, hear my call.
Africa, Great Mother of us all.

Friends For a Day, Strangers Forever

Wind torn faces, feeling cold
Venture out if you feel bold
Never do what you are told
Its snowing once again

People talk, Oh the weathers bad
Hoarding food, are people mad
It must be the worst we have ever had
Theyre talking once again

I wish the train would arrive soon
Ive booked my holiday I go in June
I know lets all sing a tune
The trains cancelled once again

Oh its so cold, have you far to go
My dad said it was going to snow
Its more than Fish and Kettley know
Cameraderie once again

Four hours it took to get home last night
You would think someone would get it right
At last, I think the train is in sight
Blame British Rail again

The mighty thaw, the snow all clears
The people smile, the nation cheers
The new found friends dont talk for years
Were strangers once again

Plastic Smiles

hollow shells
of people smiling
plastic smiles
white picket fence
2.5 kids
suburban street
manicured lawns
walking on leashes
their fabricated dogs
priceless crystal
sits on the
coffee table waiting
waiting for one
little teeter
one little totter
to crash
into pieces
hollow shells
of people smiling
plastic smiles

Premium Member The Need For Acceptance

Do you see that child taking care of her own
Trying to do her part
There is a need for acceptance from you and I
If you can’t do that, you have no heart

Do you see that young man walking the street
Looking for a place with some friends to hang
There is a need for acceptance from you and I
If we don’t do that, then he’ll join a gang

Society is to blame for most of our woes
Dividing the people into separated classes
The government enhances the social problems
Creating dependency, enslaving the masses

Education is just part of the key
Empowering the people to exist as one
There is a need for acceptance in one and all
Then many of our problems will become undone

Creating dependency doesn’t fit the bill
A nation enslaved to a government check
A sense of pride in a job well done
Will stop society from its downward trek

We have a responsibility to our fellow man
To all those who struggle to survive each day
To fill the need for acceptance within their hearts
To love and teach them to find their way.

Trading Places

There are millions of people
trying hard to survive,
from disasters and illness
needing help to stay alive.

Yet here we are complaining
when someone hurts our pride,
and broken hearted lovers
contemplating suicide.

Some people abuse young children
not caring what damage they do,
and the seriousness only hits home
when it's somebody close to you.

Take a look inside a hospital
see the people in dispair,
wanting to live their normal life
but needing our loving care.

It seems our personal problems
have come to make us blind,
but trading places with one of them
would quickly change your mind.

For the Irish

Proud fathers and relatives of the past.
Ghost's of thoose first Irish americans.
Eventhough the ignorant tried to kill us
still we did last.

Using are fists and breaking are backs.
from New York to Boston.
Green blood dries in the tracks.

Beautiful Island of green we left yet still
within are souls you stay.
From Belfast to Dublin In croweded streets
were children play.

Some call us paddy the brave few dare say mic.
Hate filled people casting stones
at the weak and sick.

As we viewed a new promise we
were met with a black eye.
But from the church to the pud.
The Irish were to strong to die.

And for all thoose who fought so I my
may talk to you from this stool I sit.
I promise you children of Eran .
I shall never quit.

So may the people dance and sing while the whiskey
does flow.
Let the young carry the torch
so all may know.

from shamrocks to St Patricks day.
Weve come to far.
So we shall never go away.

People

Some people are nice
Some are mean
Some are fat
Others are lean
Some are black
Some are white
Some people work things out
Others just fight
Some people always smile
Some always cry
Some are outgoing
Others are so shy
Some people are quiet
Some are loud
Others are humble
Some are too proud
Some people are strong
Others are weak
Some talk too much
Some hardly speak
Some people are tall
Others are petite
Some people are reckless
Some are discreet
Some people are ordinary
Others are strange
Some are unpredictable
Some people never change
Some people are rich
Others are poor
Some are always satisfied
Some people ask for more
Some people are unreasonable
Others are fair
Some people are greedy
Some always share
Some people are open-minded
Some are very shallow
Others are creative
Some people are so narrow
Some people are incompetent
Others are efficient
Some people think we’re all the same
But all people are different
