The Need For Acceptance

Do you see that child taking care of her own
Trying to do her part
There is a need for acceptance from you and I
If you can’t do that, you have no heart

Do you see that young man walking the street
Looking for a place with some friends to hang
There is a need for acceptance from you and I
If we don’t do that, then he’ll join a gang

Society is to blame for most of our woes
Dividing the people into separated classes
The government enhances the social problems
Creating dependency, enslaving the masses

Education is just part of the key
Empowering the people to exist as one
There is a need for acceptance in one and all
Then many of our problems will become undone

Creating dependency doesn’t fit the bill
A nation enslaved to a government check
A sense of pride in a job well done
Will stop society from its downward trek

We have a responsibility to our fellow man
To all those who struggle to survive each day
To fill the need for acceptance within their hearts
To love and teach them to find their way.

Yes, Yes! We do "have a responsibility to our fellow man" and we must learn to accept each other's differences. Government cannot solve society's ills, only "we the people" can take on that task. Let the message of this poem be spread to all. You have conveyed the secret to a successful turnaround for our country, Vince. God bless you for bringing this message to the forefront. I wish it could be posted on the front page of every newspaper. It is up to us to make a difference. Love, Car

Yes Vince, when as an adult and a carry person one is presented with the opportunity to "help" another, you have to be VERY careful, it's not just your own ego trying to show off that you can do it and they can't, or can't do it as well, when deciding wether to aid..think..is my action making this person/loved one/friend..independant or dependant, if the answers dependant teach them how to do it for themselfs. Light & Love

Powerful and well said....acceptance, taking responsibility and not turning a blind eye....we must turn the tide from the spiral downward direction...teach them what it is to feel pride in a job well done. There is no greater "high" than self worth!
