Little fires for the one who was lost in a strange land.
And I awaken from dreams drowned in twilight's light,
Seeking hidden roots in the fractured soil of memory,

Waiting for the light through the window to blend me.

Without a brake in sight,
Like a relentless flood, I might.
My emotions overflow,
Defying reason's flow.
I deceive myself; it's not one more of my flaws to write,
I'm weary of not grasping how, or when, or what's right.

Its long way but shorter, 
easy way to reach faster,
do it today avoid later, 
Never delay make it faster,
Hearsay never counter,
Always is a trickster,
Stay away never tester,

 One day gonna be greater,

The Shorter Half of a Wishbone

Two parties with a fifty-fifty chance
Of getting the longer half, but in this game
Of sheer luck, one gets the wish fulfillment
One literally comes up short
When the wishbone splits in two

How sad to end up with the shorter half?
Close, but no cigar. An unlucky break
Then lady luck smiles and disappears
In a split second. Isn't it tantamount

Shorter Than Short Shorts

Watching young girlies walk by at the mall
Can still get a rise out of me
With their shorter than short shorts and halter tops
Tsk, tsk, thinking bad thoughts, are we?

Just purely for their copious youthful energy
This exuberant younger generation
It's got nothing to do with gawking or ogling
Tsk, tsk, think I've succumbed to titillation?

Really much more sophisticated

a hungover farmer went one day

to a blacksmith shop to buy some hay

please dont think this funny

for he had no money

and so went home less vertebrae.

Shorter

The days are getting shorter;
By half-past eight it’s dark,
With fewer hours to frolic
At the beach or in the park.

The summer’s slipping swiftly,
Getting ready for the fall,
Though the temps and the humidity
Have hardly changed at all.

I won’t mind the colder weather;
It will fill me with delight,
But I’m really not in favor
Of the lessening of light.

How I Love the Shorter Evenings

How I love the shorter evenings, fire burning, lamps aglow.
Sunburn and dry sandwiches are seeming long ago.

The leaves already fallen and the trees completely bare,
The snow is pretty on the ground and winter's in the air.

I've had a hearty breakfast, there's a casserole to cook,
I'm watching television and I've finished off my book.

It's feeling like

Shadows of the year begin to fade early upon the forests and lush green fields,
A gloom both pleasant and soothing relaxes all after the glare of summer days,
September hangs in the air bringing to morning and evening a pleasant coolness,
Leaves burning on bonfires smoke rising in the cool air the smell is haunting.

Long days seem pass
Yet of shorter days will there be?
Did time simply dissolve fast?
Yet seems of time I did not see

Days with never the nights
Yet of nights there never seem to end
Were it days I did not see light?
Perhaps simply time I never knew when

And days indeed to return a month
Exchanging life I never did
