No Journey a To Zee
Life alas is a journey,
No straight, a line uncanny,
Nor straight, say from A to B,
But circuitous and Zany!

Premium Member spring is here
Spring is here! Little Zee is full of cheer.
She dances into the house, a pink zinnia near
Her enthusiasm lights up her grandpa and me
We are thrilled to death with our Little Zee...

Premium Member Groobergergot King from Plant Zee
The Groobergergot King hailed from the Planet Zee.
He was an expert at mushrooms, humor and technology.
We saw the sky that was full of screens with revolving pix.
He has a sense of fantasy and fun said our cousin Stix....

Premium Member Critterature: A Poetic Quandary
The xenop* is a kind of frog
That loves a sub-Saharan climate.
And though I don't like being terse,
I must cut short this froggie's verse,
'cause I've encountered the poet's curse…
With xenop,
Like orange,
There's not much to rhyme it.

SANDMAN
Sandman, sandman
Hold me tight
Help me go to
Sleep tonight
Saying zee, zee
Zee, zee
Zee, zee
Let me go to
Sleep dream free
Sandman, sandman
It’s alright
Help me go to
Sleep tonight
I’m fright, fright
Fright, fright
Fright, fright
Make sure you
Cut out the light

Premium Member is that an elf gnome or faerie
she was sitting on her bumble bee
singing a rumble dumble tumble ditty
is that an elf, gnome or a faerie?
This was asked by far-sighted Grandma Tee.

She is a faerie, said her granddaughter Zee.
How do you know? Asked Grandma Tee
She has faerie wings, replied little Zee
You are so bright! Said Grandma Tee....

Riddles
Riddles
Riddle me this Batman:
what is the middle of a fat man?
Is there anything clean
about a garbage can?
If two can dance
can Toucan Sam?
Is beige the same as ecru or tan?
Why
-does it come between ex and zee?
Is the alphabet
a good bet,
or is beta better?
Are you meant to sweat
when you wear a sweater?
Or for that matter
pant in pants?
Or ambulate in
an ambulance?

With Certainty I Am Not the Only One
SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE-ZEE

YOU’LL WIND UP BLACK AND BLUE IF YOU CALL HER A FLOOZIE

IN FRONT OF ME ONE HAD NEVER DARE CALL HER A DAMNABLE DOOZIE

AND EVEN WORSE I AM THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED FOR HER TO MAKE ME WOOZIE

THE HEADLINES THE NEXT DAY WOULD SCREAM “MAN ENDS UP BLACK AND BLUESIE”

BECAUSE I HAVE THE GREATEST RESPECT FOR THE POETRY OF MS. DEBBIE GOOZIE

Premium Member Mercat Finds a Mirror
Mercat was in the deepest of the deep blue sea
The eighth sea if you ask the likes of Pirate Lee
When she found a mirror that belonged to me
I am so beautiful! She said with pronounced glee.

The other maids were tittering about this kitty-she.
So brazenly boastful, said one of the cuter ones, Tee.
Why shouldn’t she be proud? Asked her cousin Zee.
After all, she is the only mercat in the deep blue sea....

Premium Member Kept My Thoughts to Myself
Shirley Zee loved cooking, cleaning and canning
While her apple pies in the window were fanning
Her life is so easy said our neighbor, Snoop Manning
I rolled my eyes, trying my best to be dead-panning

I knew the truth about Shirley’s marvelous life
She had plenty of problems, lots of turmoil and strife
A sneaky snake in kitten’s clothing had made her his wife
Kept thoughts to myself, for Manning’s words could cut like a knife...

Premium Member Mr Electric Blue Spider
Who is he? They were asking in Montana, Bandicoot.
It was Mr. Electric Blue spider, and he was a beaut.
He kept creeping along, pretending he did not understand.
Besides, he was on his way to hear a Mariachi Band.

Seriously, do you know him? My neighbor asked me.
I thought she was too curious, we call her Widow Zee.
He’s an out-of-towner, a stranger, I said in my best voice.
I hear that he is a widow man, his deceased wife was Joyce....

Z is pronounced Zee in the USA
Great Britian calls it Zed every day
Believe it or not good-natured linguists, the ampersand
Was once the twenty-seventh letter of the alphabet, my friend
Franklin wanted to eliminate five letters of the alphabet in his day
But the Americans would not agree to this censorship in any way
Four thousand new words are added to the English Dictionary each year
A fact in a book, but the why of this is certainly not clear...

If I May
I want to do the extraordinary,
But be ordinary.
If I must have a factor,
I want it to be me, why, or zee.

I want to be talented,
But never for it to be got.
I want my book to be read,
But never my face in a book.

I want to be idle not,
But never to be someone’s idol.
I want to sing like the birds,
But never to be silenced by a limitation.

If I may, and you would like,
This is all I want!

Premium Member Bear Is Immensely Talented
Bear paints some garden art.
His dragonflies are quick to dart.
We think his canvas looks very smart.
He adds some floral and a red heart.

We think how clever Bear’s painting is.
He is so talented, a real whiz!
We love knowing him says cousin Liz.
He is a darling! His brain doth fizz!

Who else is talented in our family?
Well there is Little LeRoy and Big Aunt Zee.
They both cartoon, and can dance like me.
And I am totally talented said little Bea....
