Stacy Applebean, every teacher's pet
Without a doubt, straight A's she'd always get
  Hated and unpopular
  Her yearbook summarized her
'Rotten Apple,' her lasting sobriquet...

Premium Member A Yearbook Pickup Line
He wrote inside my 9th grade yearbook: "I'd like to get with you inside a kayak." Today I would respond: "Your kisses were so heavenly, but you abandoned me. So it's a 'no' to me and you together in a small canoe!" Dedicated to my first kiss, Glenn, a real son-of-a-preacher man.

Premium Member Graduation Day
It's the end,
final years of study and play
      descend and
become one day
robed in sameness -
echoes from another verse of
"Is That All There Is"
haunt in deafening degrees.

Somehow, this journey of
joy and tears is truly
    the extra credits -
yearbook scribbles
  "To a Great Guy",
become tomorrows ponderances
and todays commencements......

Message In a Yearbook
I see your stuttering on paper
in criss-crosses and muffled writing.
Years have past;
your confusion still lives on these glossy pages.

Was it a confession?
You know this too well,
but a cool breeze lies at the end of this hell.
Was it something more sinister?--
it doesn't get better,
so I'll just wish you good luck.

I wish I had asked you.

All I have now is ambiguity
forever immortalized
in black and white....

The Last Goodbye Cry
Graduation that one spacial day
All proms gone
Last kiss goodbye
Letterman jacket hung up

No more teachers
No more books
No more teachers dirty looks
The last book seen

With written memories
Signed by friends
The last yearbook ever to be seen
Tassel now on the left

Leaving these memories behind
Tears flowing with love lost eyes
Hearts broken our last goodbye
School is over

Reality now
Sets in...

My Love!!!!!!
Beautiful you are,
But away so far,
I can't see you, how you look,
Only in the school's yearbook.
How much long I have to wait,
When you'll move back to Northgate,
Oh my love I missed you much,
Can't forget your gentle touch.
Very pretty are your eyes,
Thats when I did realize,
When the first time I saw you,
Over by the store that's new.
However, now i wait this time,
When you'll come through the airplane line,
Oh how happy we will be,
That at last we are together!...

Oh How I Remember Her
Oh how I miss the fresh air
Oh how I miss the shortness of breath the sweat
I didn't know it at the time
That was all a sign of life
"You are living"
I whisper to my past self in the form of a flashback
My friends say you can't change the past
But
Oh how I miss the what-ifs
What if it was different
It haunts me
What if this is it
What if this is all I was meant to be
A memory
A fading form in a yearbook
A girl with a curse to be blissfully unaware
Oh how I remember her...

In Memoriam
My Zoom reunion had a part
That featured those who’ve died
And as the faces flashed on screen
I watched them, teary-eyed.

They chose to use their yearbook pics
So we could recognize
The way they looked in high school;
Still, it came as a surprise -

So many gone I used to know.
Of what, I have no clue.
In life, there are no guarantees
No matter what you do.

I’m glad the slide show featured
Photos taken way back when,
For seeing those fresh faces
Helped remember them again....
