Haiku poetry contest
Branches
of the willow
hide us from the world as
you caress me tenderly in
your arms
slender, graceful, limber limbs
swaying gently with the wind
slight of frame, strong of root
softly bending down to shade
A frog weeps at night
noisier than rustling leaves
The wavering heart
follows wherever the wind
blows as one frog weeps along
desire to branch out
hoping for leaves to caress
lightning interrupts
For Delilah Ventura’s “I Am a Tree Contest”.
why are you weeping
because I am a willow
must you remain so

The Weeping Willow tree was just another tree to me.
Then the wind blew.
And I glanced at her.
So she danced with me.
our love in carved in a willow tree
looking out so everyone can see
how much you mean to me
together is how it's meant to be
willow of weeping
seeking forest emerald
mother nature’s tears

My willow tree will soon be bare
Already the leaves are falling
But when Spring comes calling
The tiny buds are waiting there

green reeds softly sway
sunlight paints the willow trees
cares drift, fall away
it looks like an old she
a witch maybe
her clothes
tattered
look like thin reed threads
hanging down
all around
her frail bent body
Whispering willow
A haven for tiny birds
She weeps to hide nests
Rustling leaves fly on the breeze
Confounding neighborhood cats.
whipper willow songs
are low glottal followed by
successive whistles

wild possum plays dead
woodpecker knocks on green wood
willow weeps for both
wherever the carcass is
will the vulture there gather

weeping willow snow tinged

Is all underground
And digging it up is a B itch!

A
Lone tree
Weeping in
The darkest night;
Though no sound is heard
Matters as much
As anyone
In God’s
Eyes.
Neck and neck in the night sky,
Dancing lights face each other;
But, what are they; UFO’s
Or Willow-the-wisp?
The final vestige of autumnal reign
Releases its exhausted grip on life ~
A wistful willow quivers as its last leaf falls.
