Premium Member A River of Dreams

A river of dreams is wending. . . wending its way to an ocean of blue. I’m floating on this river with sweet dreams of you.

Wending

A finger touch from you
Across such space and time
A moment taken spent
A sharing touch of rhyme
A shiver in late Summer sunlit morn
As once again a thought is borne
Of you for you tis went

Alone Wanders the White Heron

Alone wanders
The white heron
And picks pathways
Through streams wending

A peculiar kind of a bird is he,
Who looks like some sort of bird-bush
(or tree)
And perhaps he goes
And feeds at God’s knee,

Does he…

Autumn Skies

Though all the ways our paths may roam
The goal of every journeys end
Where calls the heart to hearth and home
Through wending weather beaten bends
The welcomed warmth of hearths embrace
Whose comfort cloaked in threadbare wise
No longer wields the power to chase
The moody rain from autumn skies

Premium Member Wrinkle

Wrinkle

Wending through time's wrinkle
With a wink and a smile
Warped and slightly askew
Wandering rabbit holes
Winds blow just off-kilter
Wardrobe, witch and lion
Whimsical fantasies

Dedicated to C.S. Lewis, Madeleine L'Engle and Lewis Carroll

Premium Member A Winsome Wind

A winsome wind wanders whimsically through a meadow white with wild flowers. Wending its way through woods, it whistles warmly while waltzing with willows. Waning, it meets wisteria, where now a mere wisp, it whispers wistfully. An etheree with alliteration written March 21, 2016

Shipyard

SHIPYARD

 Visions do come to me...
Shades floating to Eternity,
Ships of souls floating away,
People now past their days,
Heavenly light's clear haze,
Leaving gifts for posterity,
Shipyard of our souls' humanity,
Eternal blessing, never ending,
Ships of souls we're sending
Home, the ships of souls are wending....

The Mighty River Flows

The mighty river flows,
He has the power to keep its motion,
a force of impressive water running
through the lower mouths of
deep canyons and along the
ribbon of wending roadways,
a determined waterway,
insisting on carrying its
inhabitants to spawning
pools awaiting life and death,
an irony of God.

Savannah

Savannah, pretty city of the South
Where I spent half a day of my life
Eating your delicious bread
Mixing the smoke of my pipe
With your warm air
Riding in carts pulled by big ambulatory horses
Pissing in your sewage
And wending even more
Southward
You left behind
A shining point
On the turning trajectory
Of my life

Premium Member Tied To a Screen

Wending my way, as one asleep
    through my listless routine
  grinding away the hours
    a money machine

In my mind, not much unforeseen
    'tween eight in the morn
  and five afternoon
weary eyes tied to a screen

Hearing the bell, I leap for joy
    run, scream and shout
  from my cage newly sprung
come alive ~ to let the real me out

Trek poles wending
Peak ascending
Trail keeps bending
Effort spending
Gnats offending

Stormclouds rending
Cool rain sending
Flowers tending
Clean air lending
Sunshine trending

Now descending
Hikers blending
Smiles attending
All befriending
Hike soon ending

Sleep descending
Sweet dreams sending
Muscles mending
Smiles unending
Next hike? Pending!

Premium Member Saving Grace

Wending her way westward, wafted on whispering wings
Sailing serenely southward, slithering past secluded scenes
Nudging northward, noticing narrow, noctilucent moonbeams
Edging effortlessly eastward, entering ecstasy's eerie baleen...

Grace dillied and dallied, then dithered and doodled and dozed
Could Heaven's Handiwork save her? ~ Neither angels nor seraphs know

Premium Member I Eat You

I eat you, I eat you, I eat you so well
I f a r t you, I f a r t you, you surely do smell
I s h i t you, I s h i t you, and now as I spoil it
I flush you, I flush you, around-down the toilet.

I never did like you, that no longer matters
For all that remains are a few greasy splatters
I killed, cooked, and ate you; you lacked a rescuer
And now you are wending your way through the sewer.

Your Love

When both eyes are closed Your face lights up the darkness In search for your love My love shines like a beacon Wending your way in the night Your love is a gift That only a God could give A joyous blessing Forever I share with you The gift of eternal love Giving my soul life Creating a sacred bond That'll never break A bond which cannot compare Soulmates we'll always remain 6/29/2017

Brake Time

Chasing of dreams through time shaken seasons
Forming and shaping of whispery wills
Weaving and wending through common place living
Crutches and handholds like miracle pills
Places to go to when breathers are needed
Hammocks of cool shaded quiet away
Beside hot rutted roadways of unending hills
Questions and answers and working all day
A cold glass of poetry sipped on the way
Held in a callused and tremoring hand
Still ready and willing to play

Wending

The road narrows, I have outgrown highways,
any future travelling will be accompanied
to the sound of the echoing boards
of covered bridges.
The past has caught me gazing
into star maps only tomorrow may follow.
Fast lanes have become red dirt tracks,
the 'far away' rushes to be my next footfall,
a landing at the end of a headlong dash
that has led me to consider
a slow meandering pilgrimage,
to the next bend ahead
a place where the unknown curves.

Premium Member So Gifts the Sandman

A dream for you ...
it spins in the mist of twilight
wending the Milky Way
borne of passions unrealized
and the gilded hems of imagination's veil
dripping from the moon like tears of quicksilver
meandering 'midst the starstreams of dusk and dawn
to daub the sky with gossamer lace
and the hallowed hopes ...
of heaven.
