Tied To a Screen

Wending my way, as one asleep through my listless routine grinding away the hours a money machine In my mind, not much unforeseen 'tween eight in the morn and five afternoon weary eyes tied to a screen Hearing the bell, I leap for joy run, scream and shout from my cage newly sprung come alive ~ to let the real me out

Very nice to be free of work… for the man, that is…

Exactly, Jeff -- only I was thinking... 'for the woman,' that is...

'Course, I didn't finish the poem... So, once I was out of the cage, my boss shoved me back in for a little 'O.T.' ~ Flying under the Cuckoo's Nest

My question: do you wear yellow-tint lens to protect your eyes? I don't. We should. At least that's what I read. So you're like a bird in cage until 5 o'clock. Just don't wish for Fridays. That will make you grow OLD!

Yellow tint glasses, eh?! Worth a try. Thanks for the tip, Anne... O.K., Vinnie, Crank up the yellow lights, will you?! (I work in a cubbie off of a Broadway stage... And King Charles is actually African-American too... just like Biden is Puerto-Rican now)... lol. Thanks, Ann

Being "imprisoned" from 8 to 5 is no joke, Gershon! The real you will emerge once you retire from work and become your own boss :) @ Regards // paul

Actually, I am retired and so glad to be... Just wrote this 'in memoriam,' so to speak. ... And as you predicted, the real me has indeed emerged: As my wife has noticed -- 'Get out of bed, you lazy bum, and take out the garbage, will you?!' (Just kidding. My wife would never say anything like that). ~ Happy Husband

Sounds like a job to me, Gershon. I glad we get to see the real you here at the soup. Have a great week! Bill

Well, perhaps the 'real me' is the one chained to the screen, Bill. ~ Written from the dog-house in the back yard...

Yes watching the stock market brings out who we really are at heart.

Not for the faint-of-heart these days, daily stock market watching, that is... Good point, Michael!
