River

tiny wavelets sang
sonorous songs in delight -
dozing river woke

Camiguin Shoreline, 12:22 P.M.

.. though the waves
violently swirl
and splash about,
though they fiercely
gnarl and roar,
the rippling wavelets
woo and caress,
lap and gently kiss
the shore ..

Pink Frolic

..earthly children
of celestial delight
frolic on the beach,
aah, gladdening sight!

.. wavelets whirl and swirl
on smooth, sandy sheet,
tickling the pink beneath
their tiny feet !

Asea, Ashore

although the waves violently swirl
   and splash about,
      fiercely gnarl
         and roar,

   their rippling wavelets so gently
      woo and caress
         the soothing,
            soft shore.

Celestial Delight

Oh, my earthly children of celestial delight,
frolicking on the beach, such a gladdening sight!

Wish I were the wavelets on the smooth, sandy sheet
that I may tickle the pink 'neath your tiny feet!

At the Ocean

The sun, bright on ocean, beams

With effervescent shimmer.

Gentle wavelets drift to shore

To greet the sand's soft smile.

A gaze through tree's green rustling leaves

From hills above the scene

Does lift a life like seagulls' wings

On hues of tan and blue!

Starry Night

The moonlit ocean murmurs to the stars.
In drowsy rhythm, wavelets lap the strand.
They whisper tales of places near and far
and songs that have been sung since time began.
It’s here that you and I, who’ve sailed the seven seas,
have found our piece of heaven, in the Hebrides.

Simple Song

Vibration

Another

Another

Wavelets arriving
Like a new rain

Distinct

Refreshing

Notes interacting
Through memory
And anticipation

Sound and silence
Dancing
Courting

Spirit cleansed
Incrementally
By sprinkling

Each touch
A micro-caress

Resonating
With the soul

Oooh, Life !

in life, too quick, too soon we hate
in death, we pause, then love
          ... too late

though maybe soon the wound will heal,
the hurt takes time, the pain's
          ... too real

and though the waves do fiercely roar,
     the wavelets softly woo
          ... the shore.

Haiku: the Tenor Dove Sings

Raindrops on the pond
Entertainment for goldfish.
Wavelets everywhere.

Everything changes.
we are born, we live, we die
and nothing changes.

Eggs hidden in grass,
Kildeer flies over the field,
Kii, ki ki, ki ki.

Winter is coming
Bringing its rain, snow, and ice.
Spring is in the air!

Entranced

Listen to poem:
wavelets wavering to and fro
lapping and caressing the coast
on and on the flow undulates its curves
till the sound transcends
their rhythmic motion calming
easing a solitude in turmoil
in soothing idyllic hypnosis

Wavelets

Little wavelets played across the lake

Dancing their way towards the shore.

Such pretty patterns did they make

As the heightening wind created more.

In a hurried rush, across they sped

The ones behind pushed those who led.

Their destination finally reached,

They crashed, upon the shingle beach.

The Lady In the Lake

The lady in the lake
satiated no more
sends a thousand wavelets
to worry the shore

Motion and music her
special blend
beneath the baton
of the conductor wind

A soothing libation
was my sunset intention
destroyed by a blackbird's
red-winged invention

So much for Happy Hour,
(and if you find it believable
the wind is as reckless
as Evel Kneivel)

Shore Lines

.

In life, too quick,
too soon we hate.

     In death, too slow,
     too proud to love
          ... too late.

Though maybe soon
the wound will heal,

     the hurt takes time,
     the pain's too raw
          ... too real.

Though the waves
they fiercely roar,

     the wavelets there
     caress and woo
          ... the shore.

Dark Night

DARK NIGHT

Night, river, city, lights *
Red image dissolves in horizontal
Shimmering watery wavelets
Like embers shedding from sheets
Of soft steel in a mould and
Neon reflected in blurred rainbows

Note: * This line recalls Alexander Blok’s opening line “Night, street, lantern”
. from his masterpiece “The Twelve”

Silent Shore

In life, too quickly, too soon
                  we hate;
in dying, we pause, then love
                  too late.

 Although maybe soon the wound
                 will heal,
the hurt takes time, the pain's just
                 too real.

Take note, while the waves do
               fiercely roar,
     the wavelets softly woo the
                silent shore!

Keys' Sunrise

Keys Sunrise

She rises from the water
drenched in rosy glow,
trailing feet kick wavelets
on the mirrored dawn below.
Into her fiery breast inhaling
the remnant mists of night,
warming breaths exhaling-
the cotton clouds ignite.
She paints the faint horizon
with God’s morning mercies, new,
kissing a garland round the world
in pearl and opal hues.

A Little Dose

The waves lap up against the shore,
A soothing sound that I adore.
I’ve heard this many times before
Yet always, it’s appealing.

Aside from sea gulls, there’s no sound.
Off-season, no one is around,
So when I hear the wavelets pound,
Relaxed is how I’m feeling.

My normal anxious state recedes.
The ocean rules; my mind accedes,
For this is what my body needs,
A little dose of healing.

A Ripple In Time

An angel kissed a ripple
Onto a glassy sea
And in that very instant
A baby came to be

A hundred times she kissed it
A hundred thousand more
Each time the troubled surface
More troubled than before

The ripples started crossing
And people crossing too
In time made each their ripple
Like as that ocean blue

So here is my petition
Oh Jesus, hear my plea!
That all my parting wavelets
Be marked in time for Thee

Flowing Downwards

Glide with me
down through blue coral mounds,
froth of your wavelets bathes my shoulders

with a cloak
draping my moistened arms
as we glitter like translucent stars;

till notes float
where cool pleasure ripples--
drenching hungry bodies on the grass

like a bend
spread in caves of delight
rowing with gentle moans of one tide.

Dark Red Moon

Was the moon in a bad mood?
It came up from over the horizon
Dark red, deep rubicund.
It rose slowly
Following its normal pattern.
Still dark red, erubescent
As if in anger.

I sat on the pusillanimous sand, alone.
Moody and irritable.
Now she had left.
And I'm sad and angry,
Unlike the wavelets
That flowed over the rim of the beach.
There will be no peace between us.

Still the moon shone
Dark red.

Love Sparks

As their eyes met,
sparks of love
emitted
emotions swelled,
passions surged

like a well
full to the brim
a tear drop
glistened
in her eyes

cutting across
the borders,
it slithered down
her creamy cheek
as a freshly formed
globule of dew.

cracking
into zillion
rays of light,
it created
a zillion wavelets
of joy

suddenly,
she turned
into a forest aflame
he,
a river in spate!

An Empty Carapace

Along the waters edge I strolled, as wavelets wet my toes

Rockpools filled with hidey holes where wary crabs had chose

To wait for the coming tide to venture out once more,

Hiding from the hunters, who scour the open shore.

Empty carapaces, lay scattered here and there

Evidence of those who thought they'd take a fleeting dare,

So as I stroll along, thinking life is sweet

For some it is hide or die, just beneath my feet.

Pebbled Shadows

at the edge

                   of the grassy lawn

                               frothy wavelets eagerly lap

                                        at the moist sand

                     where glistening pebbles

        cast boulders' black shadows

in the late afternoon amber sun,

                                pleasing sound, sighing sight

for the soul's deepest delight !
