rockets
man
rockets
all in my head
a million galaxies
cut to see if I bled
far away places
thoughts
I shouldn't think
destiny is waiting
close to the brink
step by step
like I wasn't,was
insane
clutter of confusion
water down the drain
and
these rockets
man
just whoosh
in my brain.
The words all flow together
Like water down a fall
And the ideas come easily
All I have to do is call
My muse then answers quickly
A swift word in my ear
Then just in case I get stuck again
He stays so very near
I consider myself lucky
That my muse is always there
Because poetry is my best release
And a thing that I can share

Some useful, others not
And mem’ries to which I’ve returned

Inside my head my brain is filled
With no more room to spare,
So just like milk that someone spilled,
New input’s just not there.
No matter what I read or hear
That I wish to retain,
It seems to quickly disappear,
Like water down a drain.
