Eyes Darting

a river meanders under my feet
I hearken... notice... fallen withered leaves

aback I move... eyes darting... to and fro
my thoughts becloud the water down below

I am actually quite a serious person. Humor is my mask for a combination of former insecurity and not wanting to be labeled a total nerd. ~ Mr. Full of Surprises

Loved the clever relation you used to compare your thoughts to the rivers flow. Have a good day my friend...

Fall serves to make one reflective as per this and your piece A sign of the season. The fields are white for harvest what has been our yield.Enjoyed Gershon.

Very fall-ish, I like the feeling of the moving water and leaves~ sounds like Chi town is having some cool weather (it was 85 degrees here in Portland today)
