Premium Member Cats

Cats static, unlikely. They'd rather play in the big fish tank. It's the notion of prey in motion, fish.

Thinking Again'

Although
I think of you my words become icy

Do
Theses thoughts have relevance

It's pertinence unlikely...

My thoughts do wonder....

A hare who was seeking a mate,
Invited a snail on a date.
But, while the hare waited,
A trifle belated,
The snail turned up seven days late

Premium Member Unlikely -- But You Never Know -- Coming Attractions

I have yet to write a poem about a toothbrush
or toothpaste or cremation or zinc

One thing I am sure of, however, and that is
if I do, I shall have merely wasted a little more ink

Premium Member Are We Alone

Are we alone, seems very unlikely By the number of stars, must assume rightly Only time will tell After I've heard the bell Next generations will scan the heavens nightly
Form: Limerick

Paradise

Words are unlikely a medium
To paint the paradise
They say
How far blindfolded
Towards the wordsmith
They may be
I can see a sun melt
Like glacier
On north eastern horizon
Of my words

Premium Member MIRACLES IN CORNERS

If you believe, as I do, in fairy tales….

Premium Member The Tiger's Revenge

“The Tiger’s Revenge” is a wonderful book
Unlikely are many to give it a look
Its author as stated
             Seems mighty ill fated
His name, Sir Claude Balls, has left many men shook

Seed Pods of Friendship

As sudden, as unforeseen
As by which hand, in gusts
Heart to heart does flick.
As burs felt then stick.

And as unlikely, across
Which space, insurmountable
Divides, immense is
For the differences.
Form: Rhyme

Premium Member The Old Foot-In-The-Mouth Syndrome

People say the oddest things
not realizing their faux pas

Given the chance to self correct
they usually fail miserably

Is it malice or stupidity

Things That Give Me Hope

Unlikely Friendships,
Golden wedding Anniversaries,
Cold Turkey success stories,
Doctors who don't pull the plug,
Guns that misfire,
What some give up, to help others,
Sunshine on my shoulders,
Great Poetry.

Enemies At Peace (Worst Poem Ever)

A shark and a dolphin were seen
with a very small space in-between.
They were both in their stride
as they swam side-by-side
it was a highly unlikely scene!

I Wish It Wasnt Over

Our love was like a lucid dream
I thought I was hallucinating, hooked on LSD
her looks were so intimidating
hearing the word "yes" seemed unlikely
her skin was warm like summer
love blinded me and I became much dumber

Hmmmm.

a rythmatic
suspicion.
unlikely coming
addiction.
precisely hitting
anticipation.
furry catching
annihilation.
heart bending
mutilation.
mind numbing
gratification.
soul sinning
climax.
words slipping
relax.

Whatever storm you may find yourself in always remember that you are, no matter how unlikely it seems, the eye of heaven beholding itself, the light and glory of its own radiant being.

Premium Member Neo Noir Cat and Mouse

Yesterday, it was the tortoise and the hare.
Today, another unlikely pair -
an alley cat, a stolen car,
and a mouse on the lam who wouldn't get far -
two double crossers, one prayer, "God willing,
all I ask, 'a drive-by killing'".

Separate Worlds

Day, Night
You, Me
An unlikely pair
That’s what we are.
I push, You pull
I run, you walk
I go, you stay
I yell, you talk
You…
Me…
Summer, Winter
We don’t happen at the same time
Except at distant poles
On opposite sides
Of the line.

dogs are not cats
they …..
Look for love in the most unlikely of places.

find it too
for who can resist a puppy
or a cold nose nuzzling your shirt?

dogs are not cats
they love you no matter how nasty you get
making you want to be better
