A Secret

Imprisoned anxiety
A hefty encumbrance
You either shake it off, or...
be crushed under it

Mean But Sweet

People say I can be mean,

But, they don't see,

What others see.

Look inside,

Deep down,

Under it all,

And you'll see,

I'm acually kind of sweet!

Review It

When a problem clouds each day. And all is misty and grey, You must review it. You can’t get over it, You wont get under it, You have to go through it.

Night Breaches Day

The night breaches day Darkness arrives just to play It envelopes everything Takes me under it And I lie helpless in it I feel the power of night

Blurred Line's Crossing

Walk the Line
Draw a line under it
On a Charity Fun Run
As penance
For crossing the line's
So Many Time's
You stopped counting
How many pairs of shoes it took
To look before crossing
Dangerous Paths

Lost Muse

I've misplaced one's muse.
It resembles a colourful cloud,
with ink pouring under it.

Normally responds to
'Lets write'

If you see it please be gentle with it
Put it in a jar and return it to me.

Thanks in advance.

Warm Blue

I go out for walks
once in a blue moon

when I do it’s a warm day
and the sky is many shades of blue

the moon
is just a clipped fingernail

I’m so happy now
I’m over the moon and weather
not under it

Melinda's Mask

The mask you wear
Of clay and hair
Is flesh-colored pink:
A painted smile and steady stare
Of eyes that never blink.

And under it
An inky pit
Of infinite sad space.
Melinda, tell me how you fit
Your mask, where you’ve no face?

If I Were 19 Foot Tall

If I were nineteen foot tall I would not need a ladder
I could stretch out across the top of my car
And look for a ball under it.
I would never need high heels
And I could pat a giraffe on the head
And gloat because I was taller than him.

March Madness

Rain whispers wind against my cheeks
Softly promising Summer secretly
An early taste of April awakenings
The maple has dripped a puddle of sap
To add color to the damp driveway
I am sorely tempted to stand under it
In openmouthed pleasure

Can Trees Cry

Can Trees cry?
Trees on top of the hill
had been chopped down
except for one,
a big old oak.
When I walked under it
large drops fell,
I grant you
It had been raining
but that was hours ago.
Big tears,
in each one of them
I saw
a picture of fallen trees.

Untitled

Terror unending
Bliss unendured
Iron will unbending
Love unsecured
If God be willing
Truth will be found
In some bird's bright trilling
In some bell-like sound
And if walls should crumble
And towers should fall
My heart will be found
Buried under it all

Eternity

Under the vanilla skies
The evening fell
Under it a caravan of thousand camels
On a lush mountainous desert
So narrow yet so vast
They marched on, their masters on their feet
On and on they moved watching over the horizons
Moving so slowly so eternally.

Trees

Trees fluttering in the wind
Whispering to each other
Secrets that they hold
Never to be spoken
Sturdy as it stands so bold
Strong, protecting never broken
Under it you reminisce
Of all things so soft-spoken
Childhood bliss, a lover’s kiss
Secret moments never to be woken

Sky Canopy

Woolly and blue,
So spacious,
As to leave no clue,
Vaster than,
the sight of eyes,
when angry,
it relentlessly,
sunned and rained,
when happy,
it was clear,
and cool,
and added to it,
a rainbow,
It was umbrella to world,
In fact under it,
Was imprisoned,
The entire human hoard.

The Wall

The wall
The wall was built to keep them out.
Or was it built to keep us in?
Built so tall you can't climb over
And you can't go under it.
So long that you can't go round.
No doors at one end
But a gate to let you in or out.
You can touch the wall
But don't climb on it.
It's just a wall to me and you.

Like a Pigeon's Flight

When the day allowed eyes their sight
On the way…
There were three pigeons
Near the electric streetlamp
Automobiles went under it…
What a lot of wishes and ambitions in peoples’ heads
Nobody looked up and saw them
There were three pigeons
Near the electric streetlamp
Life is like a pigeon’s flight
Occupied with ambitions…

Road Trip

Rolling down the dusty unmade road
Over the rackety bridge we rode
A slow trickle of water under it flowed
Driving on even though the road narrowed

Tranquillity not at all overshadowed
Room to breath without feeling harrowed
Inner paths stretch leading to the highroad
Places now flash by, some of them hallowed

God Help

God Help
A turd up the **** ready to go
To be dropped like a bomb
On target down below obliteration
Feel it in the tubes free fall death
Don’t wanna be under it oh no
No bomb ever made compares
To my butt turd just to launch
Countdown begins to go go!
My kecks are down on target
Squeeze it out there it goes
Turd on target God help you all!

The Refugee

The sky is roof

under it no
season for them

war stranded
group they are

waking
on the blood stained ground

on the shrub thorns
reminding the crucifixion

though no peace
on the dusty loaves,
dogs and they
in quarrelsome sorts

no care
no care
only war drives their life
this to that bank......

A Contest Suggestion

Hello all!

OH HOW I WISH I WAS A PREMIUM MEMBER! AARGGG!!!

Ahem. Excuse me. ;)

It's just that I have a contest suggestion. I don't mind whoever picks it up... I'm not sure if
it's a topic that's already been done in the past, but I think a lot of interesting poems would
come up under it.

Topic : "Childhood Memories"

Anyone willing to hold the contest?

That Look That Rest On Your Collar Bones

That look
of yours
that wearily
slides down
from the corners
of your eyes
that come to
rest on your collar bones
How I wish
I could
take the
sadness away
wipe out those years
smooth out the
hardship I see awake under it all
what lays
there
in your dark circles
I know
I have walked under life too
and it
keeps pouring
upon us
like tears.

my favorite soup has no name

My favorite soup is my own invention
It has no name, but it is a combination
Navy beans and ham, sliced potatoes,
Onions with lots of salt and pepper.
Cornbread is a necessiity, to go under it.
If you have honey and horseradish, add it.
To the soup or the cornbread?
I do not care, both. Corn must be added too.
I almost forgot that part. It is my favorite soup, but it has no name.
