tea

the hearth flickers 'neath a pot
water swirls and tumbles round
dried leaves bloom within the clay
misty cup of calm

Seashell Chess Tanka

Skill kisses the sand,
a game with the ocean floor;
Each move confident;
The sea tumbles with shells,
High tide reveals a check mate.

Winter Shine

A rippling light beam tumbles, intriguingly 
Dreaming in coppered intensity 
And swirling loudly in glit·ter·y 
Whilst winter cavorts playfully

Tied Hands

unable to grasp
 get ahold of things
 often slipping thru
 falling
 a one time chance
 quick, catch hold
 losing grip
 tumbles further
 shatters below

The High Melt

The high melt waters rush
Feeding springs annual event
As over the ancient rock
Water tumbles effervescent
As it heads inexorably to the sea
In its headlong descent

Two Worlds Colliding

our world tumbles
as plane soars through tall towers
lives taken too soon

all this for power
yet caught up in their own greed
we all suffer to

Poverty , a blue !

Treadmill to a man's excess,

Hanging Wash

Wind
sends out
a clever 
breeze, who finds us
at our schoolwork, near Mother's hanging wash

Snapping back the corners of clean white sheets,
it tumbles off
to tell her
what we
know

Inattention

time and distance unwind
unmindful of a ticking clock
as
commitment tumbles through constant years
with ne’er a thought
that 
there exists another dimension
where all possibilities exist

Winter's Doorstep

Bleak
Gray day,
Biting breeze
Offers portent
And tumbles autumn’s harvest of sere leaves
To winter’s foreboding, icebound doorstep:
Stacked, stands cordwood,
Shovels wait,
First snow
Looms.

Mountain Spring

Water pure and clear
From a mountain spring tumbles
Wearing smooth its path
Pooling in the rocky cup
The doe dips her head to drink

wobbly legs misstep
toddler tumbles to the floor
screaming with fright

playful puppy
spinning round and round
trying to catch its tail

dog sniffing the grass
searching for the perfect spot
to have a poop

Biasong Creek

Near our cogon hut 

          is a crystal-clear creek

          that joyfully splashes 

          and tumbles down rocks, 

          eager to quench the thirst

          of the parched plains

of our Mother Earth!

The Race

Spring begins the chase
And quickly sets the pace.
Then Summer takes her place,
But stumbles and then tumbles into Fall
Who gamely picks up the baton
To carry on,
But loses face
When Winter sweeps right in
And wins the race.

A leaf that tumbles in the air
And drifts upon the ground.
A person who sighs and smiles
With eyes that speak no sound.
Poetry is rooted in the earth,
And flies upon the wind.
It is not a sonnet nor a verse,
It’s a feeling from within.

Once upon a time
Truth and fib went for a walk.

Stomach churning

All alone
No help
Tears dropping
Oozing unstoppable!

Eyes turning
End near?

Help needed
None gotten
Hope left
But small!
I'm in pain!

Love Can Be

Love can be powerful but it also can be weird.
Sometimes it can be like a dream that turns to dust.
Love takes time but time tumbles toward the faceless 
sea as we gaze at the faith to be fulfilled,
without faith in the one who is Love, makes love unreal.
