THERE'S A RAINBOW HIDDEN INSIDE MY TEARS,

MY EYES LOOK FOR A POT OF GOLD,

AT THE END OF EVERY CRY,

BUT THE BLACK CLOUD ABOVE ME,

ALWAYS PUNCHES ME IN THE EYE.

Hush My Baby,

Wake Up Now,

The Moon's Shining Brightly,

On The Misty Bough,

A Man In The Moon,

Has Tripped,

The Fatted Cow,

And Now My Child,

We Shall All,

Fall Down.

THERE ARE DAYS IT FEELS LIKE,

I'M SURVIVING ON A BANQUET OF MADNESS,

WHILE PAYING FOR MY PAIN,

IT FEEDS ME,

WITH A STUBBORN PERSISTENCE,

HOPES ENTICING MY HUNGER,

WITH A FEAST OF SADNESS,

AND MY DESSERT OF HAPPINESS,

IS MET WITH MUCH RESISTANCE.

I Weep Too,
My Toes Aroused,
Tickling The Mornings Dew,
Laughing,
Because It Reminds Me,
Of We Two,
When,
We Played Barefoot,
Me And You,
Swinging,
Above Tall Grass So Wet,
From Tears We Wept,
While Mourning Our Lost Youth.

Dear Jack,

Even your liquor,

Agrees with me,

That you're stinkin,

From drinkin,

Oh,

I know you say,

That you love me true,

A Liquid courage,

Always persuades you,

But your stinkin from drinkin,

And I think,

Your liquor's a drunken fool.

Premium Member My Broken Crayons
I COLORED OUTSIDE THE LINES,
DID IT ALL THE TIME,
COLORS WERE PRETTY,
BACK OF HIS BOOKS SO DIRTY,
HE BROKE THEM,
WITH A VICTIMLESS CRIME,
HE DID IT ALL THE TIME,
I COLORED OUTSIDE THE LINES,
PRAYING HE WOULD GO BLIND,
BROKEN CRAYONS,
STILL COLOR FINE,
THEY DO IT,
ALL THE TIME.

Into A Corner,

Of Morning Light,

God Nudges Me,

With A Beautiful Sight,

I Pay No Mind,

As It Breaks Through,

Sadness In Me,

Sticks Like Glue,

Paint Away God,

I Won't,

Enjoy The View,

God Asks,

"Whoever Heard,

Of Such Hullabaloo?"

I See Your Smile...

In Winter's Bark...

Cold Is...

My Window View...

Barren And Stark..

Your Grandness...

Is Welcomed...

With A Color...

That Warms Me...

Fire Bright...

Flashes Of Red...

Against Winters White...

God's Cardinal...

A Beautiful Sight.

Premium Member Hello Darkness, My Old Friend
My pain,

Hides among,

Beautiful darkness,

Betwixt cracks,

In my smile,

Tears,

Sometimes,

Fill those cracks,

And drown the pain,

For awhile,

My old friend,

I call you,

Out again,

Hoping,

You'll never,

Learn to swim,

In pools,

Of...Silence.

Premium Member Oh Joy, She's Here
Oh,
There's no greater feeling,
Than to be a mom again,
Four little paws,
A wet little nose,

Oh,
Jelly beans for little toes,
Floppy ears,
Short little legs,
Those big eyes that always beg,

Oh,
The lottery you would think,
We had won,
When I go to pick out,
My little Dachshund.

Premium Member Black Eyed Susan Loves April
Below deep snow snug and cozy,

Waiting for winters final bow,

Miss black eyed susan,

Pokes thru nosey,

Her face to love kowtows,

I Rescue her from the nights chill,

Her beauty will not be still,

In my vase,

On display,

She sheds a single tear,

A cry of thanks and not of fear,

"I love you Susan",

She knows this girl is sincere.

Premium Member What Is Poetry, I Ask
Poetry is not simply rhyming words,

It's a genuine work of art,

Painted from inside,

A memory captured,

Broken hearts dripping pain to paper,

With tears that erase impunity,

It's grasping hope that is lost then found,

And cleverness that fondles laughter,

Yes,

I hide you in my poetry,

You are there,

In every word.

If I could tell you...

How I felt...

Every time...

The monster...

Whipped me...

With his belt....

Welts upon my flesh...

He left...

But they're not...

The only...

Scars...

You'll see...

Pain still festers...

Deep...

Inside of me...

Tears...

Drowning...

With my pleas...

The Mother...

Who...

Forsook me.

I HUNG THESE CURTAINS,

I LIVED HERE ONCE,

I'M CERTAIN,

THE FLOORS WERE WAXED,

THE DISHES SHINED,

I RESIDED HERE,

HAPPILY,

FOR QUITE SOME TIME.

MY SOUL SLEEPS UNDER THE WINDOW'S PANE,

THE SINK CALLING ME,

AT SUPPER TIME,

I STILL SMELL THE ROSES,

I PLANTED OUTSIDE,

LORD,

JUST PLEASE,

DON'T LET IT RAIN,

INSIDE.

Premium Member The Delights of Wisdom
There's no need for heaven,
I have haunting to do,
You left things untidy for me,
How dare you,
Trying to clean up now,
When I can't defend myself,
You scream to the world about me,
You need a mouth washing,
Soap on your tongue,
Clean your filthy lies,
Wisdom comes with a price,
It's cost is more than life,
Yes indeed,
I have some haunting to do,
Heaven can wait.

I Often Think Of You,

Your Wet Nose,

Soft White Fur,

Your Forgiving Heart,

You Were With Me,

Twelve Years Of Our Lives,

Daily Walks,

Begging For Treats,

I Thought We'd Never Part,

I Know I Will Always,

Love You,

I Did From The Start,

I Feel Your Breath On My Shoulder,

I Know It'S You,

Wet Nose,

Soft White Fur,

Just A Little Older.

Premium Member Hard Pills To Swallow
I Swallowed,

My Bitterness,

Down With Pride,

If I Said,

"It Tasted Great,"

I Would Have Lied,

Hate Got Stuck,

In My Throat,

Next,

To Regrets,

I Drank Last Night,

None Of These Pills,

Were Good For Me,

I Had To Play,

Referee,

"Foul Play,"

Was My Call,

As My Tongue,

Began To Loll,

With Much Distaste,

I Swallowed,

It All.

Premium Member Venomous Tongue
Hissing noises,
A slithering tongue,
Who can hear the poison?

Fangs that drip a lethal infection,
Targets made unaware,
Who will survive her injection?

Darkness lights the way,
Victims fall beneath her tongue,
Who will stay?

The road ahead is divided,
One is Dark,
Who will walk beside it?

Choices made,
Before the sun rises,
Who will let darkness light their way?

Premium Member Roots of Our Love
Our Fingers Entwined,
Like Roots From A Strong Tree,

As We Hold Hands,
Grasping From Strength,

True Love,
Rooted In Our Hearts,

Our Souls,
Watered From Heaven Above,

Falling To Soil Below,
Our Marriage,

Like All Seasons Changing,
Somehow Surviving,

We Continue On,
Like Roots Of A Tree,

Planted Deeply,
Steadfastly We Grow,

Together Entwined,
One Branch With Beautiful Leaves.

Premium Member All Those Loose Ends
With this tear I remember you,
betwixt the moon and morning's dew.

Old photographs taken have cracked and faded,
my roses have crumbled inside the book's pages.

A gift you gave me is wrapped but broken,
In pieces my heart still holds these tokens.

By a thread old love is sewn into me,
Binding my heart with memories.

I often tug at its loose ends,
I'm sewing my heart and hoping it mends.

THE HANDS ARE GONE,

THAT CRADLED ME,

TURNED THE COVERS ON MY BED,

HANDS THAT HELPED ME BOW MY HEAD,

KNEADED A SUPPER OF MILK AND BREAD,

BATHED MY SKIN WITH LOVE AND HOPE,

KNITTED A HOME,

WITH NEEDLES OF WARMTH,

SHE,

AND HIM,

AND THEIR GENTLE HANDS,

ARE LONG GONE,

BUT A LOVING TOUCH,

AND LESSONS LEARNED,

FOREVER,

IN A MEMORY,

LIVES ON.

Premium Member Hunger Kills
Tomorrow is coming, it always does,
yesterdays gone left in the dust.

A hungry child dies everyday,
someones mother has cried today.

Children growing up in poverty,
the tears have washed away his dreams.

Her belly hurts the food is gone,
Its been many days since she had some.

The rats they gnaw at her mother's pain,
they've eaten up every grain.

Food is the sustenance of life,
his hunger cuts the bread like a knife.
