What Is Poetry, I Ask

Poetry is not simply rhyming words,

It's a genuine work of art, 

Painted from inside,

A memory captured,

Broken hearts dripping pain to paper,

With tears that erase impunity,

It's grasping hope that is lost then found,

And cleverness that fondles laughter,

Yes,

I hide you in my poetry,

You are there,

In every word.
