TELEVISION FREAK
T.V.
Haiku: by Tom

Television is;
ninety per cent commercials,
ten percent other.
I hear there's a television show -
"The Summer I Turned Pretty", and so,
I propose this little plum,
"The Summer I Turned Dumb".
Green sequin lines leather seats
In a shining emerald limousine,
As a television screen streams
Sequences of the finest of suites.
The television,
tells me of too much bad news.
I'm afraid to watch,
for fear that my tears won't stop.
Devastation of this world.
If I spend the same hours with Life
That I spend with television
There would be no weeds in my garden
And the vegetables would taste good
Form:
Awake before dawn
The night's Boogeymen retreat
Into daytime rest.
Television news
Fearmongers quickly step in
To fill up the void

Does anyone know
Or can they tell me
Where the debate shows
are on television now
Is it the Cancel Channel
Because I don't get it
The voicebox of God still sits in the corner
and the opaque, blank, glassy Cyclops-eye
of the never-used television screen
still stares at me
Yes, I watch TV,
the dramas and comedies.
Commercials bore me.
WAR
Red
White
And blue
Bleeds purple
Generations lost
In shadowed television lips
Smiling behind masks of golden mountains screaming graves
Interruption in Television
To read as Tele Vision
Far sight as to mean
Telling of blindness
Television to imply darkness
Lack of vision or blindness T
Then one day she thought too hard,
and her television exploded into tiny shards.
While sweeping the pieces from the floor,
the Mind Police knocked at her door.
Distant dogs
bark at rainclouds
Dead moons
collide with the living
A television blares
from a plastic
coffin
He watches distant dogs
hunt the sleeping
Football's my neighborhood's religion
its altar, the couch near the kitchen
Worshiping the big-screen television
every home in the subdivision
Listening To Television
I will listen to my TV everyday,
To hear what they have to say;
Expound upon,
Until all gone;
On your mind my poem did play.

Tale-o-Vision: previously, television!
I dial, turn on!
I smile!
Blame starts..
I turn off!
TV needs a new name:
Blame-o-Vision

From 1960’s television show “Batman.” This is the way they would advertise.
Can’t see television because you occlude my vision
People could be compared to a door for that.
Certainly you are not the window type
To keep blocking me the way you do.
The funny side of life is for everyone
Open your mind, greet each day with a pun
It's easy as pie
Just give it a try
Might wind up on television making tons
The funny side of life is for everyone
Open your mind, greet each day with a pun
It's easy as pie
Just give it a try
Might wind up on television making tons
Psychedelic scenery
Elicit blithe resolutions

my love life
is a flash of television
movies
reruns
and a bit of news
it's all on screen
and
i'm the outsider
looking in
