War

WAR

Red
White
And blue
Bleeds purple
Generations lost
In shadowed television lips
Smiling behind masks of golden mountains screaming graves

Interesting use of this form, James. I'm surprised we don't have more writings about the war here at the Soup. Everyone's financial woes would not be as great if we just stopped funneling all the treasury into killing people ... great write here, just wish there was more protest in the world ...

Great piece of poetry, Jimbo! Did you read my poem "Between the Lines"? War is something so very unnessecary and shameful. Have a look at Iraq and Afghanistan, war will never change anything! We should withdraw completely from that region. Thank you for you comments and have a nice weekend! Gert

Well, this is fantastic. I like it a lot James. Propaganda, the purple heart, all sybols of a world that lacks the knowledge of the cruelties of war. Thanks so much.
