Wounded Wishes

Of broken wishes,
like twisted, cracked twigs once green,
we speak in whispers
hoping to graft them to limbs
gently taped, repaired, to bloom.

monkey business

once a wise monkey named stan

dreamt of becoming a man

so to fool all the rest

taped a note to his chest

my wife use to date tarzan.

Taped Up the Memories

Taped up the memories
On the blank wall
No life
No color
Just white
But now stung
With emotion
And fervor
Passion littered my mind
While ardor blasted my wall

Pervert At a Train Station

Two bags of blue taped
To that square shape you call a head
Promising kindness and a safe profile
Click, click, click
Is that your heart?
Ticking like a clock waiting to attack!

38 Special

God was branded to be non-essential
gamblers and boozers were preferential
the playgrounds were yellow taped
but no crime had taken place
while cons buffed their 38 specials

Your People Will Be Safer With Us

I
divide and rule, fear Black -
they said in South Africa
Choice: Die with democracy

Stuck

Feet glued to your welcome mat,
our fingers meshed like Velcro
and pieces of our shattered hearts
haphazardly taped together;
my tears and your fidgeting
weaken the adhesive,
yet, we do not—
can not—
move.

Shooting Star

i tried to escape- my mind not
my body was raped, my mouth
taped shut, veins cut from the
inside, leaking secrets where
i can't find. see my scars?
burn me out, i shined harder
than stars & it's time for
me to shoot.

Point Taken

A new teacher whose discipline lacked,
From his pupils was daily attacked.
So he taped to each chair
A sharp tack in despair
And they soon got the point - that's a fact!

Photograph

I found a picture
Cracked and covered in dust
I found it in a box
Taped tightly shut
I found a few knick-knacks
And fought back tears
I found some supplies
And fixed the photograph

Even in death
Your smile is radiant
Even in death
You give me strength

For Once

Seek me out

Can't keep my eyes open
For someone
Who taped theirs shut

Won't waste my time

Tell me now
Before I spend my minutes on you
     Before I get attached
If you're going to close the windows
Lock the doors
And still expect me to plant you

Taped Thimbles To His Fingers

Amestecul his name Spiral Tantu
Who wishes my fiance as his wife
Wast makes her stall to marry me.
Her name Allus, she cursed me in
the detail of there romance. She is
nepasator and unkind. I often wait
for the translation of these details,
oh God am I fool? Am I a fool!

Future Things

Only the things we have lost,
and misplaced still matter.

Hoarders know how the future
looks like an empty room.

Tomorrow is hung together
on old key rings,
our words duct-taped
to a garage microwave oven.

A god you can imagine
adds you as a future thought
to whatever comes next.

A Cherished Book

The best books have a little
love in them. Whether it be
a taped spine or a
half-creased cover
a forgotten dog-ear or
a few margin-scribbles
a browning of the pages
or perhaps a signature
the more time a book spends
in the company of men
the better it learns how to tug
at their heartstrings.

Let the Music Play

Recorded music -
running amok in my brain
mirroring my mood
taped, stored, replayed
Running soft, soothing
Turning complicated, confused
angry, worried or afraid
mourning and weeping
Photographic moments...
Give up the fight
Unleash the music
Let the demons rage
Let it shatter your heart
Pray the song never ends...

Hard To Explain

I’ve lost family, my friends vanished, and love was disillusioned. I fail to remember when I lost myself that is why I carry on with my mouth taped, hands hammered down to this splintered chair, legs tide down like a criminal that I am, before I let you know what you don’t see and mislay you as well.

Over.

It's over,
Everything.
Placed in boxes,
Taped shut
In neat piles.
Neat and easy,
The way you wanted things to be.
The way that I could never be,
Because I wasn't the easy girl.
I didn't bleed the same way,
I couldn't always smile.
Tarnished silence,
Hardly resolute,
Yet I know.
It's over,
Everything is over.

Air Head

Don’t memorize things, Einstein said, if it’s easy to look up instead! I’ve got taped to my cell what I still don’t know well: My own number! Why clutter my head? This is a true story. From the quote below, I’d say Einstein’s “got my number!” “Never memorize something that you can look up.”

Moot

I wonder how it feels
as the chalk is erased away
to know that what you mean
is exactly what you say

the words hang thick like cobwebs
heavy in a dusty room
serving as a shelter
protecting like a womb

there's an shadow on the floor
a taped outline of the truth
and what you heard was me
although the point was moot

Broken Heart

It drips red
like the gel from this ink pen
my heart it drips red
ever since the day you left it behind
that broken heart
that is taped back together
drips red
lost love that causes this heart to shatter
words that were said don't matter
no matter what?
what was the word we said?
forever?
always but never
It drips red

The Bronx Pt.1

Trash strewn all over the street
Graffiti every where
A cop walks the beat
Drug dealer ducks back down the alley
He feels the heat
Congested traffic
Honking horns
Homeless lady looking in the trash for food to eat
No shoes
News paper taped to her feet
Shots pierce the night
Sirens wail
Some bodies loved one lies dead in the street

Next

only the things we have lost
and misplaced still matter
tomorrow is hung on old key rings
unused words duct-taped
to a gathering silence
rubber bands perish in sunlight
allow blooms to weep
their blessings
in the defunct circuitry
of a garage microwave oven
the god you can imagine

pins you to a future thought
of whatever comes next
