Sweetness
And your eyes went low with a shy smile
Like you were half drunk on the syrupy sweetness of my words
I want you hanging on my every breath
While you dance through my fingertips...

The moon ripe as a Georgia peach,
plopped itself upon the blue-blackened,
scalloped edge of the deciduous forest,
topping the syrupy squiggle of horizon
as it bled into the blue velvet night....

"pepperdenia"
Hot and mean as fire
syrupy sweet gardenia
morphed right before me

a known creative
(we can be so lost at times)
still burn ya, even dried

cloying smothering
gardenia still once
withered faded brown...

On Mother’s Day

and bouquets of flowers

Write her cards
  with syrupy thoughts
wait in restaurants for hours

As if this thanks a mom and mother
for all she does for us
Think what you will ~ I say it is unjust...

Still July
Sunlight seeps
through the blinds,
oozes into the room.
The ceiling fan sweats
from its labor.
The clock creeps
at half speed,
pendulum dragging
through syrupy air.

On the stoop,
the old cat sprawls,
soothing her arthritic joints.

My dear toast, you have no need to leap out of my hand in such a cavalier fashion. My plate is not a syrupy swimming pool; besides, there are two bites of you left; why start screaming for something sweet now? “It’s your fault”, toast replied; “You have those morning dropsy’s again!”

It All Has Been
Mostly it all has been:

   Love is syrupy this; love is cute that;
love is alluring that; love is rosy this.
                 But hardly anything that

                 love is a living grain
                 it feels the scotching sun
      it can groin,
      it can complain
      love suffers pain.

                The neglected fact....

Syrupy dewdrops,
slowly trickle
down the sides of
a yellow tulip.
And a red blush
tints the bloom,
as though kissed
by the sun's first rays.
Its gilded light pools
like liquid gold,
as translucent cells
absorb color.
And waxen petals
morph, into a
spectacular
unique flower.
While a sky of blue
hangs in contrast,
for this masterpiece
of living art....

Radio Smashers
Radio smashers kiss
that boy right.
They don’t linger on
his need for syrupy lovin’.
There is no answer
to rejection
or his grin,
his loosened
passion.
“Come with the intellect
we give to you, boy.”
He leans on my tight grip
of romance.
There is a RADIO
in his
pants. You can try to
follow the wind of sound
but he will never
look beyond the static....

Strawberry Moon
You don’t look much like a strawberry, moon
But you do look like a shortcake in June
Round and gold and waiting for that sweet mess
Of strawberries and syrupy sugar, oh yes

I can sort of see it now, like a summer dream
Of beaches and carnivals, heaped with whipped cream
Now you’re gleaming white and clean as an empty plate
Right in front of whom I sit hungrily and wait....

Witchy
Stinking, gassy
Lady of the night
Flinging your hate
Sharing your plight

Succubus of want
Soft and perfumed
Angel from the depths
How close you have loomed

Syrupy kiss
Dripping with pleasure
A pleasant subpoena
To a fertile treasure

Black double helix
Dressed for the ball
Come on, Witchy!
Give me a call!

Yoked and complete
Drowning in my shame
Dark and lonely son
He knows who to blame...

Premium Member I Am Not Concerned
Eight degrees currently
I am not concerned
feeding on my sausage corndog
wrapped in syrupy pancake batter
enjoying the warmth of my house
in no hurry to face the bitter winter day
probably a zillion calories in each nibble
do not care in the least
love this marvelous newly found item
found in the frozen Jimmy Dean section
I devour it with gusto
sated, satisfied and unconcerned....

Carnivore lay in wait like, the feline among the sparrows. “Come sip my nectar, sweet syrupy elixir it’s free for the taking, a desirous sensation to lull you to sleep” sings Darlingtonia. Within ruby pitcher, tendril awaits, a cavernous throat dining on insects, perhaps a frog or tree shrew for the gullet of unassuming Cobra Lily, pitfall trap.

sending you picturesque dreams
sending you syrupy words
until I've linked up the distance between us.

Here I am waiting for you till eternity!...

Untamed Tongue
Poison flicks out,
among saccharine promises.

His sugarcoated tongue is tarnish proof.

He holds his tongue.
Where shall he place it?
Idle.
Let it rest.

Give permission to taste encouraging syrupy words.

"Love" is apple pie.
"Wonderful" drips of dark chocolate.
"Sorry "soaks of rich coffee savor.

Do not spew out:
"I hate you!"

Tame speech with righteousness.

Quiet tongues are blessed....

Premium Member Soggy Seas
Listen to poem:
The seas today were not a short, sharp chop
but were syrupy soggy soft like black treacle,
clinging to the hull like on a spoon, clutching and sticky.
Warily I sailed on, aware of the tenuous tug
and drag of deception in the compliant welcoming.
I, as an alien in the wetness of sea,
knew that the warm softness of the seas's clutch and cuddle
may belie a hidden tumult,
a change of face
on the whim
of a mere breath
of wind....
