The Shade of a Swizzle Stick Version 2
The shade of a swizzle stick frightened the drunk
Who's head bowed down in shivers of funk
Like leaves that cool when shriveled 'till shrunk
To swizzle our sticks in cool ice junk

Dum Drunken man with lids; his dreams
Erase each moment in flickers and seams
Won't die 'till morning; eyes form beams
When memories left forget it seems.

Drunken
The shade of a swizzle stick dark and drawing
Fear head will fall in shivers while bowing
Snorts for some warmth fighting dreams till endowing
and save you from hugs where illusions are calming

Drooling aside to wiping the stubble
Awaken; then rising, then resting when humble
Sweet sleeping dreamer a'rest in the rubble
Left until morning when words will mean trouble...

Premium Member Flirt- For Contest
Well, hi there, striking blue eyed blonde with velvet scarlet lips
twizzling your swizzle stick between your fingertips
I'm pretty sure that you have lured some lookers to your bed
so step outside your comfort zone and have an ugly one instead.
Hows about it?
Where are you going?
No, no, wait.....

We Have Kept the Toads
Once we shared
the same swizzle stick and paper plate,
ate the casserole no one else wanted,
but then there were the toads.

The Atlantic flushed, hands were washed,
the toads stayed to be reasons why.
I filled a storage unit with them,
at night I hear their forlorn croaking.
I’m hoping they'll evolve,
become less noxious.

You kept your toads also,
and wrote to say,
their warty appearance began to improve
the moment I left....

Premium Member Ideas Will Not Leave Me Alone
Ideas come prancing but I do not have the time
They try to open me up, to swizzle around in my mind.
I intentionally ignore them, hoping they will go away.
They dance a watusi, fully intending to stay

What is it? I yell, irritated that they will not give me a break.
They chortle and chant and snicker. For goodness sakes!
Ideas are swishing and swirling, all alive in my mind.
Poetry? Art? What are they wanting? Will I find out in time?...

Premium Member Rain Song
Drip drop
titter tatter
hear the raindrops
pitter patter
falling faster
growing fatter
hit the ground
splash and splatter.

Prattle tattle
swish and swizzle
hear them make
the sidewalk sizzle
pitter pitter
drip and drizzle
falling softer
start to fizzle.

Drip drip drip
they tap the pane
drip drip drop
they start to wane
rush gush
the gutters drain
hear the music
of the rain.
