Surfeit
Serenades, his lies.
Soothing sweetness, it singes.
Stumped sorries, she sweeps....

Recluse
They stay by themselves even current
at times as God's faithful servant
delighting in being fervent
resembling a hermit
they don't need people to confirm it
as is a card proceed to surf it
taking to adoring surfeit
to be their final verdict...

Surfeit of Spam
Here, there is a surfeit of spam,
Fed to us by government man,
Democracy's harrowing tale,
Setting us up to fail,
Pollies' synchronised team,
Is all this what it seems?
Total cant and hypocrisy,
A merit myth of futility,
Spam surfeit, no caring beyond duty.........

Liturgy
There is so much to taste:
a religious surfeit
gives me indigestion.

Jostled by a crowd of words
I seek just who I am
in relation to the Word.

Give me space, some quiet,
room to breathe the Holy.

The Word made flesh is enough
on which to feed - together....

Cat Nap
Fractious feline
sensuously stretching,
languorously lying,
soporifically slumbering
(monocularly monitoring).

Meandering mouse!
Tail twitching...
tautly tensing...
Predatory pounce!
Salubriously surfeit!

The Feast
Tongue soaked in tasty red
Painful water; it blots the bed
Vampires are at feast
Doom strikes whoever sucks least

Bursted veins, brawled roars
Shattered windows paving soars
Of beasts; two dead couples lays
Tickling death in its night rays

Hunger exhumes lost appetites
Like woods to termites
Carcasses left for vultures
It was a night of less surfeit pleasures!...

Truth
truth

The mile ahead the
surfeit of deception
That tables giants
of doom in light
stricken homes
Brings honor in
their company
My hands in air feel
off the swing
Liberty pleasing the
slave
X, wins palatial
favor
prim roses drop from
above
I see doves gather
them with joy
Filling baskets of
freedom rings
All the dungeoned
released
There comes open
homes....

Mood of the Time
Proof of the pudding for all arts—
Man being narcissist at heart,

Looks for some reflecting mirrors
That feed him with some fond feelers.

A poet too seems not apart,
His pen if plays, plays a small part.

In need of feedback from readers,
Sought with a surfeit of prayers,

For, there are more writers
It seems than are readers.

Bereft
And ever above,
clouds of sorrow
assemble in thunderous ranks:
a surfeit of threat
and gloom.

And ever below,
unhappy footsteps
surrender rhythm
to unyielding pavement—
against a gray and endless plain.

Who but a fool
dreams that sorrow
can be bartered
for kindness and love?
The beggared soul abides.

And, in his eyes,
the ashen world
grows, blurs and overflows
to run down his cheeks.
And it rains....

Premium Member Fanning the Flames In Indianapolis
Examining the sidewalks of Indianapolis
reveals a surfeit of oranges and apples
'Course we're talking about peels and cores
over which anti-litterbuggers have started a war

Well, it's a fight to the finish against urban blight
in whose defense have arisen Proud Boys on the right
For the freedom to litter whenever and wherever Americans desire
~ and cheer Lady Liberty's flame as it soars ever higher...

the heart
pumping, nourishing the body's life
feeding life's blood, glistening, pumping
pumping,

the heart
the largest vessel in the universe
it holds as much love and grief
as its host fills it with
its capacity never replete,

the heart
still there is room for more
joy, pain, love, grief, ache
bleeding out with sorrow
surfeit with joyous wonder

and still there is room for
more
and more
and more...

She and He
she sauntered around - up the greenest hill
he happily joined her, learning anew
she always stayed healthy, he often ill -
Proteas on Drakensberg Mountain, pink hue
he failed to see pink, tinges of red, blue
she could talk a prayer, God and nations
he heard her, meandering around his pains
he could not forget his failed marriage, ex
she seemed blessed with many sing-song refrains
he, surfeit within with love, needs, regrets...

THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE without grammatical symbols the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and respond thus making the form a two way interplay and often a unique interpretation by the enigma so derived...

The Colourless Cuckoo
Isolated, lonely, alone
Apart, aside colourlessly known
Yet a music, song for the world
Unseen, unheard, tales told
The dryness of scorching heat and the dogs days warmth
And the spirit, muse that it unknowingly, namelessly pourth,
Somewhere invisible yet succulent, surfeit, existence,
Detached yet poignant attachment- what honourable significance
Colourless yet colourful of multifarious steadfast tones-
Spreads the cheer, blithe, gaiety consoles the torn....

Shattered Mirrors, Shattered Past
i think of you often...
this cheval glass
titled like downcast eyes
retracts memories
of reflective past
    i see you there

this tiny frame
surfeit on pain
can't see me
beyond you

gaunt on love
starved of touch
i reach for you
beyond
the shards
of shattered glass
where you fall
again in death
yet in each piece
i fall with you

a shadow
in your reflection
longing to be seen
without you
as the years
fade by
yet i only see you
in the image
behind shattered glass...
