I Humbly Share How I've Written So Many Poems

   A few relatives asked me
how I write so many poems
    Given my surfeit of humility
       I decided to tell ‘em

    I start with a word
       sometimes a phrase
    Then something happens
       I go into a daze

Whenever I come to, I’m no longer myself
Seems that my poems ~ just write themselves

Gosh, I wish I could say the same Gershon. I recently wrote a poem about how my mind is a blank slate for writing as of late. I should read your poem again and again, one question, how do I get into a daze?

You're a true poet, Gershon. I usually have either one word or a sentence form in my head. Keep on penning your poetic prizes, good for you and good for us. Shabbat Shalom :)

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, Regina... Sounds like we write poems about the same way: Start with a word or phrase, and go from there... And amazingly: I used to teach beginning adult ESL student 'Good for you,' and 'Good for us' the very first week they started. (I taught via real-life conversation; grammar for adult second-language speakers only discourages the vast majority of them).

All it needs is just one tiny spark and boom it flows, like striking oil. I find your sub conscious plays a big part, go to bed with and idea and a trickle becomes a waterfall of words when you wake up. Tom
