I Humbly Share How I've Written So Many Poems

   A few relatives asked me
       how I write so many poems
    Given my surfeit of humility
       I decided to tell ‘em

    I start with a word
       sometimes a phrase
    Then something happens
       I go into a daze  

    Whenever I come to, I’m no longer myself
       Seems that my poems ~ just write themselves

Sounds like we write poems about the same way: Start with a word or phrase, and go from there... And amazingly: I used to teach beginning adult ESL student 'Good for you,' and 'Good for us' the very first week they started. (I taught via real-life conversation; grammar for adult second-language speakers only discourages the vast majority of them).

I find your sub conscious plays a big part, go to bed with and idea and a trickle becomes a waterfall of words when you wake up.
