Skullduggery
Did time stop to ask
if it broke your gentle heart,
to depart so soon?

Death
Know not when you sleep
sleep is bliss so is death
                      Discern not when you die

First time I write Haiku.

Dreaming Love
Eyes brown
Fixated in them
All of me

A soft sound
And in them
I dream

What I found
Surreal it
May seem

In love I drown
And in them
I gleam

The Book He Read
There was a lad from Bangladesh,
Who read a book titled, 'Suresh',
He wakes up every night,
Because he sees a light,
And the book comes to him afresh.

The Banyan Tree
The Banyan Tree
The banyan tree stands tall, come rain or mighty squall, it rests, serene, but never unseen, its branches guarding us all. BITE SIZE POEM no29 Poetry Contest Sponsor: Line Gauthier Date: 6th December 2021...

Justification
Justification is the only recourse
When truth starts sounding bitter
They will convince you
They will argue with you
They will beat you
They will kill you
They will idolize you
Like a stagnant pool stand you
They breed out of you
You become the Justification

Parents
Through pain you were born, with love you were raised, with hope we sent you off, with pride we watched you from afar, not realizing your dawn was our dusk.

Legacy
Legacy

Inheritors we are of depravity,
yet blame do we the ignorance of
those whom graves stolidly invoke,
or pity do we the oblivion of
the unborn, who, in our dirty shoes
shall sordidly rule the seven seas?

Cessation
Tinted colors of old
Debauched, dubious mysteries
Finagled corrupt's gold
A glorious, poignant history

An empty throne,
And tales of skirmish
Standing draped in gold, all alone
A war cry and a death wish

Glorious structures,
Secluded with pride
Curtained with greed and power
A broken ruling mind

Sky turning grey
Chains broken for freedom
Nobility burned like hay
End of the golden demon.

In Memory of You
In Memory of You
So that even if my moribund mind fails to show your fading beautiful face again, you shall glow eternally in these trembling words. By no means hollow are the choicest crowns this dying poet does bestow on his cherished lover.

Let Jack Study
Stories, cartoons,
comics I love most
English, maths and science
are like ghosts
They haunt me all day
disturb my dreams,
keep me awake
I want to play
all the way
Let Jack study,
he is the dull boy
Schools are like monsters,
traps us inside
Only a history teacher,
we all together like
Akbar to Shivaji,
Rani Laxmibhai
They fought and played,
never went to school
Want to be those heroes,
Why make me run behind books.

Crucified
Under the shining light
Knelt before the words of Pontius Pilate
With Judas alongside
Did sins of creed bestow
upon me the cry of the century
John, did thee see
My crimes wash away
In Jordan, or was it just me?
Is Apostles' Creed devoid of truth
For did He visit Hell?
While He resurrected.
Take me down that path
So I build my own shrine
While the Holy Lance digs deep
And take away me,
But no one to throw, no one to see
While I hang on the dogwood.

The Fortune Seeker
THE FORTUNE SEEKER

The parrot peeps through the tiny window

The fortune teller coaxes it to take a bow

Expecting keenly the parrot from the cage

to come out and gently pick a page

to tell his future; the young man wants to know

Looking at the ceiling, he recalls his past

Confined to bed, the old man looks lost

His near and dear ones desert him

like passing clouds; pastures not green as it seem

With blessings for all, he waits to breathe his last
