MORNING IN MARCH
cold blue atmosphere
stalwart limbs of oak raised nigh
wave of stripes and stars

tears of joy
polish the medal
gold
tears of relief
greet
the baby's cry
tears of pain
fill His stripes
again & again

peppermint stripes gleam~
hooks of sweetness in moonlight
hung by a silver thread
bravery symbol
power and ferocity
jungle predator
distinct paws and stripes
shes used by many sports teams
often flashing teeth
A Zebra in M&S
I don’t suit these broad black stripes,
Said a Zebra in M & S.
Have you something in a spot?
I want to look my best.
windmill proud erect
between blankets of tulips
beauty laid for miles
arial view seen
like stripes across a flag
eye candy to reap
sun on orange fur
stripes shimmy into coolness
the tiger he rawred*

*my word for his gentle roar
I'm an animal expert, I admit it's true,
and I have some fun facts for you:
a zebra has stripes, not spots,
never pinch a quadriceratops.
My scars look like stripes
I am almost a tiger
Her fingers caress my furs
Like brushes on unfinished paintings
And she laughs like a whip
I wanted to be a tiger
but I was a bunny
as a Gemini, godmother said
you are a chameleon
you can change from stripes to polka dots
I roared

Archetypes ~
Eisenhower, Reagan, Niki Haley
goldfinches feeding
many yellow and black stripes
bunches of finches
forming a single creature
a yellow jacketed wasp
see the wasp devouring
Red and white stripes round
and round the long shepherd's crook
sweet and refreshing
the first one of the season
most certainly not the last.
. My stripes are jet black
The orange flame surrounds me
I am beautiful
thirteen kindled stripes
blazon fifty beaconed stars…
freedom burning bright

David Mohn
Sitting observing the Stars and Stripes
Gently wave from its high perch
Storm clouds are passing over
Will the storm pass today but come tomorrow
Form:
when I die
I want the striped planet to come get me
not angels or Jesus
I want the stripes to be pinks, lavenders, oranges and reds
I am particular
sweet breezes lifted her
harsh winds have tattered her
cold earth defended her.

STANDING WAVE
playing her part,
in the Wind Ensemble —
she’s standing proud,
her trumpet waving
in patriotic bliss —
stars and stripes forever.

Tony snails and rusty nails
can be found near giant whales
As for candy stripes on blue-gray dolphins
all those I know went miniature-golfin'
flambé of round eyes
draconian red-hot tongue
stripes of a pumpkin
Jack’s jumpsuit’s not black and white
Autumn’s murderous fashion

Hold on to your many stripes
Before you blow out your pipes
I can hear you loud and clear
Stop acting so cavalier
Cool off then ride on one of the bikes
When it's not right the clerk gripes
But now cards have chips and mag stripes
To swype or insert
If done wrong it can hurt
Like partners who don't know their pipes
Are zebras white with black stripes
Or are they black with white stripes
My mind's confused
Standing accused
Zebras await is it black or white stripes
through my long-stemmed glass
red & white stripes, blue with stars
merlot reflection
muted-purple silhouette
prolonged sips, flag pole on porch
