Great Motive

Let situations
Be your motivation
For restoration.
With acclamation.

Let no aberration
Nor excoriation,
Disturb your focus.
Stay put in your direction.

Snow Afoot

In snow
Walk slow

If stuck
Hard luck

Bad foot?
Stay put

Forced stay
Delay

A sleigh!
Hooray!

Who Wants To Go To Mars

They're taking reservations to travel to Mars Be the first to colonize another planet far Too old to make the trip Too bad, into history I'd slip Think I'll stay put and just strum my guitar

Skyline

I look, I stare and I wait
until your eyes meet my own
and my heartbeat skylines all the way up
you look away, I come back down
and I stay put expecting another hit
one more glimpse of blue
another taste
of sky.

Ambition

Greedy for affection
Such is a sin
Keep still
Stay satisfied
With remnants of love
A heart that yearns
Seldom leads to rejoice
Stay put
Keep complacent
Contentment is no affliction
Know that your desires shall never come to fruition

Great Feet

Toe nail
smell stale

small toe
don’t grow

Hard skin
can’t win

sore sole
poor soul

dropped arch
quick march

left right
frost bite

big corn
Feel scorn

feet itch
right *****

One foot
stay put

two feet
great treat.

Sanctuary Necessary

Camouflage afoot
hooves trembling
don't stay put
run aground disassembling
hurry shroud apparel
fortress in view
departure from the barrel
exemption you blew
woe
go

* It's hunting season, so I thought I would write about the poor deer :(

PUT

Stay put
And no hustle and rustle
Let life wear and wane with time
To weather in adverse weathers
Like a stone
So you ought to stay put like a grit
And hug wishes a whistle
Into a collection of weird worlds
Then dig I a stone
And rub shoulders with the great!

Her Toe

its a toe,
on this foot,
on a girl,
who cant stay put,

its been hit,
by chairs and rocks,
mostly when,
its only clad in socks,

its been painted,
and wiggled around,
its best friend,
is the ground,

cause its a toe,
on this foot,
on a girl,
that won't stay put.

Hats Off

I never thought I'd see the day
  when Illinois' leaders held sway
Taking the lead in this deadly war
against a virus Mr. Trump tried to ignore

Hats off to Governor J.B. Pritzker
  and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot
In tandem, they've conducted a blitzkrieg
to get Illinois residents to stay put

A New Normal

Be now normal Make it continual and ritual Forget the causal Stay put not frontal There are many things to do factual All things you are in control Unless fatal and impartial Do things substantial Mostly it will be rational At level, reversal Mutual, dual Pastoral, beautiful and fruitful.

Valentine Haikus

Valentine haikus

East now meets the west
In Valentine. Melting hearts
Stay put on high crest

In its familiar
Script, the secret crush attempts
A delicate push

For electric touch.
Like a tremulous tangent
Does at curves soft spot.

Hang On

Hang on, stay put Just plain: we stay one and we are set It’s like holding on to our seat No backing out Fasten our seat-belt Back to back, side by side It’s survival, I bet Though we go out We soar to our loves’ height And I am sure our path is correct Hanging on is definitely right Hang on, have trust!

Summer

Summer

I do know that the Summer of our lives is short
Lost in a confused whirl of ecstasy and disappointments
Crossroads encountered with paths hastily chosen
Will it be left, right or stay put?
There is no going back

I do know that Autumn follows Summer
Mellow days now
Opportunities less but richer
Time is precious
Now that Winter is approaching

When You Don't Try - You Fit In

Being how you are on purpose,
and being what you are is often effortless,
I suggest a course of non-action.
Self-help from mentors
will land you both pickled in the same cosmic jar.
There are all kinds of just rightness,
stay put,
being your own special kind of fit
in this misfit world.
Reality is a jigsaw puzzle for the sightless,
be the last piece to be found.

Cast It Wide

A grand adventure is afoot,
awaiting those who won’t stay put,
I must confide.

A world is there for you to greet,
but there’s no way for you to meet
if you’re inside.

So what, child, are you waiting for?
Get off the couch; grab firm the door,
and cast it wide!

Time

My dearest friend and biggest enemy.
With a little bit of you, I see things more clearly.
When I’m in a state of despair,
and I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere,
just around the corner a solution appears.

Sometimes you show up when I don’t want to see you,
I wanted to stay put, then suddenly I flew.
Then eventually with more time I see,
everything that happens is truly meant to be.

What Am I

If you see me run
  It's not much fun
I do not crawl, neither do I walk
  I will not say a word, I can't talk

   I can always be seen
            But I am not green
You can find me in any shape or size
I will stay put no matter what arises
I have no wings, so I can't fly
                      What Am I ?
                                ----
