Hats Off

I never thought I'd see the day
  when Illinois' leaders held sway
Taking the lead in this deadly war
against a virus Mr. Trump tried to ignore

Hats off to Governor J.B. Pritzker
  and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot
In tandem, they've conducted a blitzkrieg
to get Illinois residents to stay put

Why is it some see the storm coming and others don't, I could see it coming, Wrote about the Spanish flu in a poem. Made horrific reading researching it I can tell you. Our buffoons answer to it was wash your hands singing happy birthday, you couldn't make it up. Tom

Sometimes, as leaders, you have to make the grim, unpopular, but necessary decisions - that is when you see who has integrity - and who is just a dancing monkey..
