There was no place to wade
in the stagnant pools of Corona.
The virus sank our feet into the mire.
Help was on the way, as we submerged
into the cesspool.
Melancholy is a dreary morning;
hidden within our souls
like mist spread over the marsh—
upon the stagnant waters
and the treetops
that refuse to drown.
Now American football enthrals
There are plays there are tackles and falls
It’s not stagnant or staid
And it’s usually played
By men with oddly shaped balls
stagnant swamp
unbearable overgrowth
animals staggering
through dampened weeds
what life has this swamp taken?
what life can this swamp give?
