Paul, an intriguing and sadly emotional poem of dregs of the past being stirred up - it doesn't bode well for his peace of mind.. An excellent write and awesome title too, my friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Thank you, Susan. I quite like the title myself:) When I'm travelling on the bus I pass the time challenging myself with a one word prompt, in this case it was 'roiling'; did not take long to come up with a suitable tanka!! ~ Warm regards // paul

WOW! I write for the most part long poems. This tanka reminds me how much can be said on the head of a pin.

Thank you, Armand. Unlike you I usually go for short poems, but that does not mean I don't enjoy reading longer poems which grab my attention right from the start! Regards // paul

Just discussed your poem with a class of 15 year olds, they liked where you made the reader go, and how you made the reader feel: "sad", "frustrated", "depressed","mad", "uncomfortable", "confused". great write :)
