Large yellow-orange
blooms, falls last foliage appears
reminding me-hope.
Pray for harvest
of the late bloomers fruit and
harvest in spring time.
In my soul's courtyard
A game between mind and heart
Playing squash hardcore,
Though smashing the ball full force
Sounds can't escape the four walls
I
one seed, so wise
to hide generations of pumpkins
forest of leaves
II
wisdom in tendrils, leaves
spread out - small garden -
blind tendrils grasp non-leaves
There is more than one kind of pumpkin seed.
One can be eaten, the other does feed.
A red dotted fish.
Or squash with a wish.
Both handsome specimens of nature indeed.
Squash blossoms with filling of

ginger, cinnamon, pumpkin

Pale zombie pumpkin
Absorbs the lives of *pepos--
Souls try burst out rind.
Pepo--any fleshy gourd fruit with a hard rind and many seeds, as the melon, squash, or
cucumber.
Blue Hubbard, or Butternut -
A squash is a squash.
Bake at four hundred degrees
'til the flesh is soft,
sweet like a candy,
healthy, and
fresh!
Plant in July, down South
Pollinator, squash bee
Perfect for fall displays
Pepitas, healthy seeds
Pureed, served many ways
Palatable in pies
Plump ones may weigh a ton!
A revolution without radicals
is like
squash casserole without squash.

Oh, and just so ya know, radicalism and violence are two completely unrelated terms.
Form:
BUTTERNUT SQUASH
Butternut squash does it make people moan
Methinks I'm unique, methinks I'm alone
Each to his own
Hold the phone
Why am I different, will I be dethroned
Fur on my cat
Wish I had it
Imagine that
Fuzzy and soft
Stuck to my skin
Flat and aloft
Warm and cozy
Happiness mine
Snuggling nosy
Licking I wash
Puking I pout
This dream I squash
an anonymous tempt to squash nevermore within my hushed dreams
dare I lust fantasies featured with brilliant ingenuity -
just this once for twice is humdrum and never no longer howls

Kabash Should Wash Off Squash
Oh why not can go ahead and kibosh,
And while you are at it start to wash,
Bottom to top;
Do not stop;
Off all of the surface of yellow squash.

Another cooking poem.
What was the first Thanksgiving really about
There was never a turkey, just squash, geese and trout
Did the natives bring jerky
Well, the history's murky
But as the nation took off, the natives lost out

Jeer, farcical cheer
Jive, cheer to sneer
Jest, barb to test
Pun, jest for fun
Joke, fun to poke
Jab, poke to grab
Joust, jabs that roust
Jibe, taunting vibe
Josh, vibe to squash
Jolt, tingling volt
Jaunt, volting flaunt
Slush, slosh, marching in the goo,
Put on your boots and I'll march with you!
Squish, squash, making funny noise,
Mud was made for us girls and boys!
Slush, slosh, marching in the goo,
Doo doo-doo doo doo-dee, doo doo dee-doo!
After the rain I started to smell them
They have a distinct odor, not a fragrance
I had to walk carefully, as to not squash them
They were squirming on the sidewalk and in the grass
Night crawlers, giving me nightmares some nights
Strenuous work,
Gimme a perk,
It hurts, the pain,
I'm not the same.
Bending backs,
facing the facts,
I'm not a farmer,
A bogus charmer.
And they tell me;
Be careful said he--
It's squash, not squish
You work or you flee.
Poor fat old Santa Claus
Had smelly grey dirty drawers
His wife boiled them in the wash
They’re baggy now, so his balls don’t squash
