Never a Turkey

What was the first Thanksgiving really about
There was never a turkey, just squash, geese and trout
Did the natives bring jerky
Well, the history's murky
But as the nation took off, the natives lost out

As the late Senator Daniel K. Inouye was fond of saying, "Not once, in the entire history of the USA, has Congress honoured one single agreement made with the native people of this land," so not much has changed! Aloha!
