usurping the scene
with slurping obscene 
sputtering spittle and steam
then spraying a particle beam
that succotash was green
if you know what I mean

The cold night air hurts my lungs...
I inhale my cigarette and Google the freezing point of peroxide... 
My days have turned to mundane madness...
My nights blurr past like a speeding train...
I dream of breakfast even though it's 9 at night and I'm awake...
I count my nickels and dimes in hope of a biscuit in the morning...
Life is just a long hospice stay...

You are beautiful when the facsimile is complete,
flowers resplendent,
and the focus of eyes hungry for lost decorum,
the patterned tables, chairs,
wrought iron ornaments, mark
a harmony with the weaving weeds in the terrace,
and so too the planted trellis,

but now, in early spring,
while your neat rectangle of water remains drained,
I can't help but notice the sad fountain- 
a sputtering pipe,
exposed bone,
and the garden falls apart....

Our parks, are slowly covered in gray
Devoured by steel, A cement buffet.

Business is booming, but at what cost I ask
Of course not the dollar!
I refer to green obstruction, a disagreeable task

Coughing and sputtering is not reserved for cars
as asthmatic patients suffer from smog, like non smothered cigars

My park remains green, but for how long I wonder?
The gray park gains on the green, construction loud like thunder...

giggle for its fun to chase about and run
children enjoy play flying glitter bugs display
release them free into the night breeze
sparkle with their glow on and off they go

She snaps from divine touch

the room though small
	too large still
for flickering light
	from candle small

day is gone
	light is lost
darkness grows
	stealing all sight

each small breath
	of air disturbed
casts flickering fear
	of failing light

as minutes grow
	in hours lost
and wax consumed
	forever lost

in sputtering end
	as flickers fail
