Fearing ghosts is not foolish if they are ghoulish
for evil specters might haunt you Halloween night
dancing
ice among gasses
marble
a distant specter
white dwarf
colored glass reels
universe
Luna's specter glows
Gazing at her reflection
In the black night sea
Inspired by Raul's "Reflections" contest
Hannibal Lecter
remains for so many a most ghoulish specter
eat out at your peril
already he's asked you confirm you are sterile.
Walking right through you
Like a specter of lost love
You'd hug if you could;
Even if you died for her,
She'd still be indifferent
woodsy mountainside
rain turns snow-white petals clear —
japanese specter

A Gogyohka
The wise bird
perched upon the alder branch
all-seeing specter
with 360 degree vision
gathering knowledge.
Brilliant nightfall views
Barbs of darkening hues
Specter of sunlight gems
Vespers obscuring into godsends
Elegant devoutness
In worshipping grandness
Venetian blinds shuttered
Vivacious lust a fix
Veins throb crimson allure
Visceral dread repels
Victorian specter
Vexing savoir-faire lure
Vampire's bloodletting
Spring is approaching
Its specter dances in air
Flowers will bloom beautifully
And Earth will be young once more
Enhanced by rainbows

Obsidian velvet
Parts the leaves;
Silent paws impress
The land and in
Moonlit shadows;
A great specter hides.
In one swift flash
Of light and shadow-play,
Panther takes his prey.
each day
I pass among you
a specter
blending into shadow and shade
never meeting or speaking
yet we are
one in same
touching earth
as we circle
under the glow
of the golden sphere
in circuit about its orb
each day
I pass among you
a specter
blending into shadow and shade
never meeting or speaking
yet we are
one in same
touching earth
as we circle
under the glow
of the golden sphere
in circuit about its orb
The Specter
Your spent to long
Searching for fallen stars
Your moon slipped away
I hope your wishes were
Worth the price you paid
You failed the one
Who needs you most
And now you must confront the ghost
The house feels hollow,
The only sound: my footsteps –
You took the laughter with you.
Minutes drip slowly –
The specter of loneliness
Stares at me with greedy eyes.

The summer specter like wild parrots squawked,
in piercing jade abandon did it fly.
Through rampant trees of emerald we stalked
the sun's medallion in a cyan sky.

Form:
spots of ink in sky
a specter of nature shape
if you look, you'll see
cool breeze at the shore
under the cold blue veneer
small gravel tremble
gloss black of crow wings
sparkling as the midday light
walk proudly up grass

Lost at sea yet the lighthouse blinds me,
crash into a cliff and a siren’s beckoning,
breast beat slowing as gravity crushes me in twilight.
As my specter bubbles to the surface,
I come by an ancient creature,
bioluminescence and teeth jagged.
He seems friendly.
Who am I to judge.

A chromatically colored specter
in flight, lands upon bluebells
in the garden; a statuesque palette
drinks the nectar from flowers;
collects pollens for crafting
her own gardens nearby.
The delight of a stained glass winged
butterfly, is ever profound;
nature’s sweet gifts of grace.
I sense our heart’s waning passion
Though we sealed it in a ring
The love we both share
In its gold we engraved
“Always and Forever”
Whose luster still remains
But look on our feeling
It’s no longer reigning
Only a cold dull specter
Of once heated past
We’re defeated by a ring
Whose luster still remains
I, of infinity, I grasp
the reins of the foul
breathed beast.
The dragon of
our paltry mountain,
the specter who judges
our endless diversion.
And from the colorless
echoes of the void, I,
of infinity, watch
as the cloud grows.
The cloud that will
devour you
and your dragon
and your mountain
and your souls.
I amble along paths
rutted deeply
In the life
that I have fashioned.
All pine for sunny days
of warmth and hope, but now
an aura tinged with fugue supplants
and haunts me with its specter.
For in the end, what I desire
simply does not matter. The fuse
is lit; the bomb goes off, and pieces
of me now are lying everywhere.
you fade into
the distance
out of reach
an illusion
dissipating
with the breeze
into the night
a specter
an hallucination
vanishing
leaving me forever
