 robotic vehicles 
just to mention a few 
Peter rabbit 
Santa Claus 
Smurfs 
and ogres alike 
just come to the library 
to be thrown in the mix...

They were fighting cyborgs in their universe marred
The Borg fly their cube spaceships  and look to destroy
Federation Starships that against them deploy
One thing that puzzles me with the Borg
Do they have toilets especially designed for cyborgs?

Oceanic octopus south of the border
Eight elongated tentacles in a ripe order
An organic obstacle to outrageous pirate queens.
Housing grizzly omnivores and oily other things.

Overwhelmingly ostentatious in the oceanic sea.
Oxymorons galore; floating in Earl Gray’s English tea.
Brown oxidized treasure chests gliding in the water.
Oriental spaceships spelling out watch out daughter....

Robot man I bought back in sixty-nine
Looks scary, ominous, totally ultra-fine.
When the invaders came, I put him in my yard.
They terrorized others, but thought he was a guard.

These spaceships avoided him, as if he were mean.
Disappeared rather rapidly, never again to be seen.
Many other townspeople disappeared that weird Tuesday.
But I am still here, with my robot man, resting away....

They have frowsy flamboyant hats,
some are born English,
while others are obviously alien.

They need a deep corner to thrive,
or a high ceiling.

Like Maasai maidens their necks
are stretched to infinity,
they will not take much manhandling.

If we ever find their spaceships
we will need a stepladder
to greet their leader.

They both cure depression
and bring depression on,
especially if you stand too long
in their shadows.

cowrie shells baptized dollars
cow-hide suffocated with air
comfort women in their best
Cambridge fraternity with honors
commander with his platoons
sky-men in their spaceships
class room wizards with sleepy eye
Champagne , coca cola, carrots

These are the dying gods
that relax on high thrones
intoxicate conscience
roll away the Bible, Quran
and call on humanity
worship me, me, me alone
