The slivered white moon piece
  hangs entangled
wrapped in maple’s naked branches
  watching watching
  does he watch
that thin silver white moon crescent
Seeing all from his high perch
   seeing with no eyes
   as does God....

Days end paints purple facets A single star comes to show The slivered moon Clouds dancing Sit atop lookout road Forging onward with pen and paper A poets dream Where words transcend once again a warm breeze touches Wild grass At roads end

The sound was unmistakable:
   glass splintering
   on the tile floor.

T'was my heart
she slipped away again
   breaking into innumerable
slivered fragments of love.

perhaps
one should have
   a plastic heart
   that would not shatter
from Death’s hard blows....

Epicurean Birds
Sealed tight inside
a closed coffin
until death flings the lid off,
and the serrated scythe
softly slashes
the caged birds of Epicurus -
feathered prey bleeding
in silent surrender,
painfully pleading for flight
as the reaper moors their wings
to marble plated
sandstone mausoleums
slivered with blood...

Debts Paid
Pieced together thin slices
like a slivered moon
mosaic
cobbled snapshots of splendor and pain

Fractured glints of crashed boundaries
uncollected past dues
mingled souls’ shredded fabric
a patchwork insane

shimmered moonglow does knock on
your window each night
poke your nose through the fog
and unlock the safety chain...

        Old woman, needed meals delivered.
Upon seeing the forms, plain shivered!
        A woman, a man?
        No, I am a ham!
She harrumphed and papers were slivered!

First Rose
You called my name, blossomed pink through a screen
Red face, heart race, bewitched I fell sick in bed
A rusting rose emerged from my slivered soul

Before I slept, I remembered the first time I wished we met

The laugh, that made my days glitch
I'm here again, wondering what happened there
There were times, I yearned to see you again....

The Resurrected Moon
GREEN
SLIVERED GRASS
RACES WITH A BLUR
WINDS DRYS N COOLS MY SKIN
THE HORSE I HIDE
CRIES IN DELIGHT
I RACE WITH DIGNITY.

Twilight sets...

AS A DAY DWINDLES AWAY
I RIDE FREEDOM'S TIDE
RACING WITH THE IMMACULATE SON
NEVER WINNING THE RACE
BUT TRIUMPHANT WITH GRACE
JUST RUNNING THROUGH THE COMING RAINS
VISIONS BLURS
AS I FLY FROM THE DYING OF NOON
GLIDING INTO THE RESURRECTED MOON....

Beauty From Brokenness
Broken bits of glass gleaming
Under the sun, beaming
Glittering and golden, glass glaring
Shattered shards shining
Shimmering sunlight
Revealing a striking glare
Slivered sections, subtle imperfections
Reflecting fractals, kaleidoscope window panes
Fragmented picture frames
Broken on the ground it laid
Sun saturates it’s broken seams
Cracks and creases cascade rainbow light,
Behold beauty from brokenness, bright...

Sequestered from mundane oration
Until this spell from Earth’s rotation
Meanders from my frozen gaze.
Melting clouds in pastel plush,
Evanescent waning rays,
Recant my vision’s wanderlust.

Slivered shards of ruby hues,
Unflinching wisps of reddish blues,
Nuanced haze in wafting threads,
Supplanting twilight’s blushing gray.
Eventually dusk’s blanket spreads;
The trance is broke – I look away.

~The wave breaks gently, caressing over and over it strokes the rocky shore. The shore trembles wet ready silvery but mute. The storm glowers angering the sea: back-talk leads to back hands, and the shore maudlin retreats.~ Large ~ boulders break with the tides of time, to slivered shards all glistening wet. golden in a new dawn once whole now broken by the tide still there's beauty, yet.~

Slowly, oh so slowly,
with each labored breathe;
the soul searches,
searches for its rest.

Searches for the sunshine,
the slivered sound of rain;
searches for the Universal roar,
an ending to the pain.

Searches for serenity,
the gentle touch of love;
searches for the shining Child,
Grace from above.

Now they live in memory
with each passing breath
the soul searches,
searches for and finds

It’s eternal rest....

Loveliness
Let me touch thy weathered hand,
outstreached to serve me alms.
Veil not thy face of elder years;
eyes overflowed with love.
Let me remember all my days,
I knew loveliness as you.
Need is such a painful state,
each day but slivered hope.
Stay with me a little while;
speak wise and lovely dreams.

Broken Wings
She's split amongst the two
One a girl unheard of,
Few see little from
Who gawks at the slivered moon
through blotchy eyes,
Welled up tears as big as moon pies
The other a girl who holds up her fibs
Conjurring by magic,
A cloak to mask the lies
Who catches tears before they slip
Neither bangs or pursed lips
Can hide the sadness in her eyes
Both are placed with broken wings
She pulls her head together and flies
ME; this one note she sings...

Premium Member Take Me Home

A poison cascades
As moonlight serenades
A heart left rendered
A love left tendered

Sail the lonely trails
Of pale faces and ails
Listen to my voice
Let it not be white noise

A gift delivered
A romance slivered
Just take me home
To oblivion I might roam

I greet the solitude
With gracious gratitude
I may walk alone
For a bevy of sins I must atone

Take me home...

To oblivion I roam...

Take me home...

To oblivion I roam...

The ancient slivered
   white moon piece
   hangs webbed,
Quite entangled
   in the unyielding wintering
   of maple's stark branching.

As watch watching does he watch,
that thin silvered white moon crescent,
seeing all from his high perch,

His ancient partner,
the weary beleaguered planet
   Earth, slow-roasting
     from green
     to tan
     to brown,
Barbequed by fellow traveler,
   the well-respected
   Mr. Sun.

Sliver moon hand in the sky at night

nighttime fixtures of stars burning bright

to light the darkness and

shed light on a dream

of times, when I slept in a crib and a mobile

donned down on me

snuggled in my comforter

now, grown-up though

the snow on the ground comforts the earth

like a comfortable comforter

he who sleeps besides me comforts me

as I long to dream

now the dream comes

is it scary to want to marry the universe?

That Kind of Day

The cat just hissed and slunk away
the dog low growled and hid,
squirrels sat teary eyed in tails,
sparrows still on ‘lectric rails.
Oil skin clouds sailing past
billowing dark pirates bones
sun, as hostage, tied to mast
moon in slivered shiver tones.
Cold steel shrapnel’s stinging touch
reddened cheeks unwanted blush.
The cat just hissed and slunk away,
it was just that kind of day.
