Keep Me Close

Hold me tight
Stay by my side
Or one day I will
Fall in the fire

Handcuff me to you
Love me forever
Keep me by you
Or I will slip in the shadows

Keep me close
Never let me go
Stay in eyes sight
Or I will die in the light

time stops to slip in ebony night, emotive clock freezes eternal pathos in congealed instants, silhouetted in the shadow of past, smears the strata of darkness, designed to disguise perception lattice

Dark ferality
slow strangulation
spiralling desire
shrouding us in fear
of our own making

No cure in sight
we slip in gloom
shadows seem real
noose around neck

In stillness
we embrace
love divine

Presence
then feels

The Shadows Slip In

Thy'n'est Be, That'd has'eth Become of Thee,
Twass an Ire that be over thee,
Thee dine on my soul, forever more twas thee,
& Thyn twass'eth become'eth of thee . . .
Slipped from thyn grasp, thy twass'eth
& Thee Shadows surround thy
Looming the possibilities of thee End,
Of All

Oh

Sat on the edge and dipped in a toe
a cold narrow ledge and a whisper of no
But where is a curious fellow to go
relax and slip in to go with the flow
Or how will the rest ever know
What the reason for sitting
on edges was so
and why do the edges of reason invite us to grow

Shadow Diorama

Even the ghosts have faded now,
splashes of gray like shadows
in a child's diorama.
They slip in and out of mortared cracks
in my mind,
seeking a validation
I cannot besrow.
But they must remain in
their graves,
Wrapped in their gangrenous
shrouds, pursuing
redemption without me.

Shrouded

Shrouded
Shrouded, in a mist, Enriched, in a cyst; I saw you skid, Slip, in a slit; Diving in your cove, Hiding in your jove; Rolling down the hills, I saw you in the midst; In chaos, I reigned, And in silence, it rained; Reminding me of you, Gliding into the hue..

Stuffed Cabbage

Stuffed cabbage rolls waft thru the house
old memories slip in and out,
Babcia i dziadek would be proud
and Busia and Cioci would be too.

A head of kapusta to Golumpki formed
the cousine curiosity so tasty and delicious reborn,
give me a kiss upon my forehead then eat
Dai Mi Buzi and smile, jesc, the surprising gastronomique.

Wilderness Ways

Whispers of the lost,
those are the sounds the wild woods make
when you lose your way.

Angry bears track your mind,
shadow-wolves slip in and out of nearby trees.

Then you find the gate at the end
of a city park,
wind-swept whispers scatter dire thoughts.

A well-known and well-trod path,
yet it still finds you alone and listening.

Haiku #12,024-12,028

I welcome winter
with virgin clean fields of white
crisp air, well dressed nights

Spring's voice too, will sing
with nature's scent wakening
be done spring cleaning

Summer will slip in
my shoulders bare as I jog
through drizzle's warm breeze

Fall makes a comeback
I am awed by the clearing
a year laced with zing.

Fog On The River

The hulls of small boats
drop down into the morning fog
then return like rising seagulls.
The moored
slip in and out of the mist
then return painted
by a deep diving sky.

Sinking or flying, the small craft
slip through our vision
like leaking ghosts.

They roll upon an obscure air
shipping cloudy waves,
a swell last seen
in shipwrecked teacups.

Poison

Drink
Sipping
On a glass
Celebration
For success
Over enemies
Laugh out loud
Entertain a crowd
Dinner is on the house
Glass is exhausted of drink
He calls me to fill it up with more
I slip in the antidote, the cure
To the suffering of my people
Fill the glass with the drink
The tyrant laughs hard
His heart slows down
He clears his throat
He's grasping
Coughing
Choking
Poison

Haunting Faces

The last time I bleed will be throuhg my eyes
But never again will it be over estrogene
The insane vibrations loosens my grip on reality
I slowly slip in to a surreal world of ecstasy
The fame causes suicidal tendacies
And edges enter like bricks through bone
Tough until crakced, then brittle as shells
The last time I bled was through my eyes
So I am not able to see their faces

I said, “No.” and I meant it.
There was a memo. You know I sent it.
No...it's not something you can deny
And I have no interest in hearing why.
Your read receipt’s right here.
And the memo’s meaning was quite clear.
Despite that memo, you failed to comply.
So, for you, I’ll further clarify.
I have faith that you will surely understand,
When I put this ‘pink slip’ in your hand.

Premium Member Snooze

Abrupt deep snooze
From heavy booze

In a swift pile
Deep slumber styles

Heavy strange snores
Flood noise galore

Slumber can speak
Strange motifs peak

Stupor styles plain
Such ***** refrains

Talk in your sleep
On drowsy trip

Secrets leak out
In cryptic shout

Abrupt sleep train
Words slip in vain

Premium Member Woman At the Window

The sunlight broke the silence of the glass
To serenade the silhouette within.
That time of day when swallowed doubts slip in
Like uninvited guests,
She gazes out the window
After buttoning her dress,
Reminded of the failures of her past.

Moored Boats In a Foffy River

A slow twist of an invisible slide
and the hulls again escape,
drop down into the morning haze,
return as gray gulls rising.

The moored boats
slip in and out of the fog
as easily as ocean legends
then come back
painted by a distant sea.

Sinking or flying
the small craft slip through a sky
only as wide as the river,

but when they return
they ship water last seen
in a shipwrecked teacup.

Witch Finder

I slip in and out beyond twilight
to look what others see.

Through their eyes fitting as behind a mask
a discontented observer in a half sleep state.

I know not why but all is to bide my time
in days gone, a finger pointed at my breast bone
and declared to the man.......... witch.

There find a storm never seeing the like, hoisted up and hotted feet,
I know not why but all is to bide my time.

Where Whispers Beg

I already miss the summer grapes
so sweet and succulent to taste

chill infringes the Autumn night
bringing forth added layers
to the satin already slid on top

slip in close
where whispers beg

lay upon my warmth
holding dreams hostage
wrapped meticulously
in every crease and edge

hypnotized a desire's bred
nothing more needed said
still one with the night
comfort held ever tight

The Truth, Linguistics, Relativity, and the Doppler Effect

A missed word
An error of syntax
A slip in punctuation

The truth is relative
Your truth is not necessarily mine

Truth told in grief
Truth told in mockery
Does not always remain The Truth

Truth be told
Your truth is not necessarily mine

A breath of gossip
An overheard sentence
The snatched glimpse of a word

Just remember this truth
Your truth is not necessarily mine

(Yes, I'm crap at titles, sorry.)

Heart Light

In the cold mid-winter gales
you dare not hoist those mastif sails
the winds are brisk and far too cold
barreling restless taunts from days of old.

Come in to the harbor safe
where the lighthouse greets you in its wake
and should the light be dulled and grayed
let me help you find your way.

Slip in gently thru the darkened night
cautious and guided by my heart light.

Short Which Short For Contest

Do you mean short as in not tall
Maybe short as in bad tempered
How about shortening for best shortbread overall
Or taking a short-cut for going unhampered

Short-hand, for taking notes at speed
Short lived as in not long to last
Short stop and short slip in sporting games you need
To stop short is what I intend to do so hold fast

So many short’s to write about, If I do them all, will definitely not be short.
