Aspens reaching skeletal fingers skyward
Grow the ancient boreal midnight mountain
reaching rooted primacy given taken
glorious prayer
Upward rise,
Daily highs.
Skyward eyes,
Season's ties.
Crowded skies,
Southern cries,
Northward flies.
Mated prize,
Winter dies.
A long-winded breeze
carry a blue plastic bag
toward the sky.
I look
at strength
in sun's heat.

Temperature skyward
Heat radiates water soothes
Sun sand shells sea surf
It is a skyward dance of angels and demons
They have been dancing throughout the seasons
Engaged for unknown reasons
For us to only believe in
Near lonely lighthouse, a gull swoops down
to kiss the waves, then veer around
Back up skyward, pumping wings
~ gliding swiftly, homeward bound
Silent cosmic dust,
Spiral galaxies,
Shimmering afar,
Scattered nights above,
Sparkling points of light,
Stellar paths ignite,
Skyward eyes awoke.
Do you ever wish you could fly
Skyward with wings that reach the sky

Like Superman
Passion of my youth engrained was I
YEAR ONE
suddenly alert
this splendidly antlered stag
looked star-skyward
and the many beasts
all watching the sky-bright night
were warmed and at peace
I must tell you this bird:
long thin legs, sharp beak
wading in a dappled stream
grayish blue, at home in cypress
Curving skyward through Spanish Moss
To float
Within the air
Fluttering up
The master butterfly
Drifts in the breeze, skyward bound

The trees stretch their limbs skyward.
The forest awakes to life.

Stirred by booming winds,
The Druid descends from stars.
From Nature, he flows,
Skyward and free,
Soaring blissfully,
In elemental harmony
branches reach skyward like arms to Heaven

Tethered to little reason
we send our kites aloft
to see them bounce about
and dance to their own rhythms.
So skyward our hopes are sent
to an indifferent god.
Soar me skyward with you.
Teach me to be stress free.
Show me how to read the wind
and leave all care behind.
Send me home with wisdom.
Hold me safe and guide my dreams.
September's Flowers
September’s flowers are full of growth,
s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g skyward to grasp the
last rays of the summer sun
before they, like leaves, will wither and die.
The night sky leaves us awe-inspired
Tiny dots of light drawing our eyes skyward

A glittering spectacle of millions of tiny diamonds

sweetest pine-pitch springs skyward

twigs crumble crunch with flames kiss
