Year One

YEAR ONE

suddenly alert
this splendidly antlered stag
looked star-skyward

and the many beasts
all watching the sky-bright night
were warmed and at peace

Oh, this is lovely, Daver! Feels sort of magical and very hopeful. However what's this about Kiwi not being invited to draw Santa's sleigh? You know, if she ever heard that, she'd give Santa the middle toe? :) Is it true he'd eaten too many cookies, fell off someone's roof, and rolled down the hill in a gigantic snowball? Maybe only a rumour.:)) Love you, Daver, Mikki

VERY interesting one for a New Year poem, Daver. I especially liked the imagery of the first one, the splendid stag gazing toward the stars.
