Kites

Tethered to little reason

we send our kites aloft

to see them bounce about

and dance to their own rhythms.

So skyward our hopes are sent

to an indifferent god.

Indifferent? Depends on how one thinks of IT, whatever IT is. I like the way you set this up, no B.S.. just good poetry. Great write, Shadow Man. Love, daver

I think this is excellent. It captures that spark of the imagination well and the enjambment only reinforces the way that the reader can find their own way. It reminds me of Lorine Niedecker in the brevity and the overall impact.
